The Salaya is a gem, no, a gem necklace studded with diamonds and gold! From the exquisite accommodations, to the ever so friendly, kind, and super attentive staff across the enitre hotel property, my stay was beyond extraordinary in every aspect, and this review, comes from a global traveller with luxury tastes and discerning standards.

There’s nothing NOT to like ! Look and smell clean , management and staff are awesome… the restaurant and food is at par with any branded named hotels and resorts. I highly recommend it!

This is the resort of exceptions & BUTS. Let me explain….for everything good about this resort there is an off-setting negative. The property looks ok, BUT the road to get there is like a demilitarized zone, hazardous, bombed out, one lane, cratered, and you pass laundry, chickens and little maldito kids using bad language towards passers by. The beach looks nice from above, BUT it’s a crappy beach, dirty, no one uses it. The units are equipped with a full modern kitchen, BUT it’s one hundred USD to use the kitchen that’s already in your room. Seriously, there are warnings posted about not using the kitchen. I asked, luckily it’s ok to use the restroom. Seriously…. Can not use the kitchen that’s in your unit. No charge though to sit on the sofa. Loads of windows and sliding doors, BUT half of them don’t lock. Large and spacious rooms built for to entertaining (big sofa, table that seat 6-8, porch that seat 6-8) BUT, no guests are allowed. Period. None. Why not? That’s the rule sir. The restaurant has really great food and really great service (Ellen especially) BUT, they literally kicked us out of the restaurant one lunch day for the sole reason we didn’t want to order sushi. I kid you not. Four adults and an infant, kicked out and told to go to the bar if you want to order lunch from the lunch menu. On sushi day, you’re forced to eat sushi. Crazy insulting and plainly bizarre. Remote location BUT, there is absolutely nothing

Amazing private villas with attentive staff

Posted 14 Jul 2022 on Hotels
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Very private place. I like the fact that the snorkeling area is right in front of the resort. Few villas mean few people on the place which we prefer

Great boutique hotel

This is a great boutique hotel with lovely grounds , the villas are brand new and perfectly decorated . We had to cut our stay short due to a bereavement, and the Manageress Carol kindly agreed to keep our extra nights as future credit . The pool area was great overlooks the sea. We had a great dinner at the restaurant .

Thank you

Pros: Marc and his team are wonderful! They serve with heart, trying in everyway within their limits to make our stay a pleasure. Big thank you to all the restaurant staff, especially Kathy. And Dave & Christian as our snorkelling and dive guides. Also, all the masseuses that we have experienced are attentive to our needs and have very good touch. The rooms are spacious and bed is of excellent firmness. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately cared for, with a few proud looking free-range chickens roaming around, very delightful. The dive boat crew is great, helpful and thorough. Most of the dive sites are quite close (10-20 minutes) to the resort. Some wonderful snorkeling is available at several of the dive sites. In fact, nice snorkelling is available right off the resort grounds. Cons: Choice of food is very limiting, the western dishes are more successful. The wood fried pizza is world class, hopefully they will serve it daily instead of only on weekends.

The property was very nice, clean, scenic and comfortable .. the apartments were spacious and with good interiors. However, there needs to be a pest control that is done. There were insects in the apartment and my bed had bed bugs too that has left me with a rash

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Salaya Beach Houses, and for your 5/5 review score. We noted upon checkout that your concern about bugs was insects that had come in from the garden bathroom door that was left open, and would like to clarify that there were certainly not any bed bugs. We hope that you enjoyed your time with us and that you’ll return again soon. Best wishes from all the team at Salaya Beach Houses
