This was the closest hotel near the airport with 24 hr front desk and I came in at 12:30.
Only complaint was breakfast til 10am and so was checkout but overall for the few hrs I stayed ther it was worth it

Das Hotel ist ein bißchen in die Jahre gekommen, es gab kein warmes Wasser in der Dusche. Für eine Nacht zum Flughafen Transfer war es gut. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich.

Bad experience and customer service
Posted 20 Nov 2021 on HotelsBad customer service from the start. I booked for two people. There was only one towel, one bottle of water and told that breakfast was only for one. They did not wanted to tell me the wireless password my Fiancé had to assist. I informed the unprofessional person at the desk that I have prove I booked for two and she refused to look at my paperwork and informed me it was in the system. I went for something to eat and when I returned they had corrected their intentional errors. I read before from a review that someone had the same issue and they charged them extra. I was not going to allow that to happen to me. In the morning I checked out and went to another Hotel. I was to stay for 6 nights , but after such bad experience I would not stay even if they offered it for free. I complained through Hotels.com and received a refund for the remaining 5 nights. Will not be booking this Hotel again. Let’s this be a warning TJ those travelling in pairs

Awful

Pros: NOTHING.
Cons: Clean the rooms and make sure there is toilet paper in the bathroom.
Don't advertise that there is wifi.
Location: Middle of nowhere outside the city.
WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.
No wifi in the room. Window above the door, so light from the corridor shines into the room all night.
No toilet roll. Soil in the rusty old bath. No shower. Sign on the bathroom door about disposing of used condoms.
Lift doesn't stop at the floor correctly, so there's large gap to step up into the lift.
Check out took ages as receptionist didn't want to take card payment or issue a tax receipt (but did eventually).
Receptionist doesn't speak good English and seems incapable of using a phone or a watch correctly.
Booked a pick-up from the airport after the last domestic arrival. Airport was closed, taxi rank empty and had to wait alone in the dark for an hour. Requested a discount for drop-off at the airport the next morning due to the inconvenience caused and was told this wasn't possible.
Drive from airport took 50 minutes, not the 20 minutes advertised.

On behalf of Greenlight Hotel, please accept our sincere apologies for the unpleasant experience that you endured during your last stay with us.
I however would like to address the issues that you have raised in your review in the following order:
Airport transfer:
Greenlight Hotel is located nearest to the airport more than any other high-end hotel in Dar es salaam city. We are talking about an approximately 10 minutes drive or less. This is usually the case as we are located in an area whereby a journey to and fro the airport does not suffer traffic snarl-ups. We normally encourage our esteemed clients to send us email about their flight details, exact arrival date and time. This will give us an opportunity to arrange our airport shuttle for a seamless transfer.
The fact that you did not send us the aforementioned details, served to delay the process.
Lift maintenance:
Indeed we sincerely apologize for the hiccups that our esteemed clients experienced in our elevator. We have taken measures to ensure that there will be no repeat experience of the same. Thus i am glad to inform you that a new elevator system is now up and running and thus i wish to assure our clients of a very smooth experience in our lift system.
Wifi:
I also would like to apologize about the erratic wifi experience during your stay. Indeed we had a short interruption of the wifi but which was later rectified by our provider. We pride ourselves to offering our clients free super-fast and reliable wifi in the rooms and all other outlets in our property.
I have already shared your candid review with my team, and i do take this opportunity to assure you that the mishaps that you encountered have been fixed.

Would rather pay more for something better

Pros: Nice bed
Cons: Breakfast
Location: I was there on business and it was situated close to the place where I needed to be.
Was a struggle to find a cool room for me with a working air conditioner
Breakfast is terrible
Bed is very comfortable.
Will not stay here again.

Not as advertised

Pros: Clean enough. Staff nice. Location was good for my work.
Cons: Restaurant needs better service and food quality. Make sure that the internet and cable tv packages are paid and ready for gues
Location: Industrial area. Good if you have business in the area.
Hotel is new and clean. Decorated well. Staff is very friendly. Internet did not work on my floor. I needed the internet because I was there working. No satellite/cable TV access as advertised. jet tub not working. No mini bar in room as advertised. Restaurant service staff is slow. Finally, the price advertised on Expedia was not the price I paid. After booking, the price was shown as higher than advertised.

All around, terrible
Posted 30 Dec 2016Service was terrible, shower was dirty, bathroom was not clean at all and many of things not working, like light, no towels (even after requesting it several times), tub was rusted and molded. Room was hot, A/A was not working appropriately, breakfast not available at the indicated time, and so on.
If you can avoid this please, I would recommend you try to find another better one.
