Sonesta was a great stay after a long day of travel. The hotel was quiet and relaxing. I appreciated that the room got very dark to sleep in. The bathroom also had a heat lamp of sorts which made me feel like a warm little lizard in a perfect terrarium while I got ready for the day.

The room was clean and nice. Little taken aback by having to pay an additional $100 as a "deposit" after we booked and paid for the room when we got there. Close to shopping, which is nifty and only about 15 minutes from downtown Salem.

The security deposit hold is required from all guests in case of any extra charges to the room past the room & tax you had prepaid on Expedia at the time of booking, i.e. food & beverage or room damage. Looking at your account I see no extra charges, so the 100 authorization hold will drop off in a few business days. The property is located behind a huge mall. There were restaurants, easy access to shopping and an AMC theater. Conveniently located 20 minutes from Salem. Overall nice place to stay for a weekend getaway.

The staff was really nice. Check in and out was smooth. I was here for two nights and each morning I was awoken by 6:30-7am and it was too loud to go back to sleep. The bed was comfy but I didn't get to sleep long. Besides the noise it was a good stay for the price and location.
