Difficult to locate and there was no soap in the bathroom. Quite neighborhood, nice breakfast and staff were helpful.

Convenient oasis!
Posted 14 Jan 2024 on HotelsSuper lovely, peaceful and clean. The location is perfect - calm but also very close to some sights and beach areas. The staff is very kind and helpful - they can helps arrange taxis, buses (to Saint Louis for example) and cash exchanges. The rooftop space is amazing for relaxing and some nights has fun stuff going on life movie night. Highly recommend!

Very nice people
Water pressure very weak though. You have to flush many times. Very reliable and exceptional staff. Quiet area. Film show every Tuesday on the rooftop.

Business and Pleasure in Dakar
Posted 8 Aug 2019 on HotelsThe Hotel du Phare was everything I wanted for the price I wanted to pay. The location ended up being perfect and felt safe, quiet, and comfortable. There was an issue with the water while I was there, and for most of my stay, there was only water about 30% of the time due to the maintenance of the neighborhood's water tower. The staff was very hands off but easy to get ahold of and very accommodating. The hotel rooftop is also a gem, and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring. Even with the issue of the water I would stay here again when I return to Dakar. I was concerned about the location but it ended up being a great jumping point and was close to many points of interest and easy to catch a taxi from.

More of a hostel than hotel

Actually, i am sorry if i have been brusque with you. It was not my will. I’m a litlle surprise that you find the hotel so unconfortable. In fact, huge amelioration have been done since 10 years… All the rooms have conditional area, television and bathroom, we entirly build the roof top : 2 equiped terrace, a pizzeria and a 2 Bar and an interior patio. Maybe, your expactations are more those of a 3 stars than 2 stars hotel, but prices are not the same.
By the way, I’m sorry that you didn’t find something you like in our two restaurant. However we offer a large kind of dish classic pizza, vegetarian pizza, cheeseburger and vergetarian Burger, four different salad including buddha bowl.

Value for location and cost
Posted 21 Sep 2018 on HotelsWe had a conference nearby, hotel du phare was a backup hotel. The accommodations were satisfactory. The restaurant on the roof served excellent pizza. I work globally and stay in many hotels like this: clean, quick service, friendly and a working air conditioning. Sadly it lacked hot coffee in the morning, a slight inconvenience for some- for me a big issue.
