Booked a villa and it was spacious. However it looked rundown compared to the photos. They really should update the photos or maintain the place to look like the photos at the least. Everything is a little far from the hotel so unless you rented a car or have a driver it is hard finding a cab. They staff at the train cafe is very nice though.

Not bad a stay

Posted 25 May 2019 on Hotels
There wasn't much ventilation in the room. When you have to open the windows, you'd see flies and mosquitoes flying in, which made you unable to sleep at night. Bed is okay. Not much activities to do after 9pm, but the television provides quite a lot of channels. Walkable eateries outside on the main road. They have security guard walking around at night which made us feel safe. Food at train cabin was okay, not as good as expected, but ambience is good. Distance to night market can be about 30 to 40mins walk. They would help you to call for taxi if required. When we had to leave late at night for sleeper bus, they offered timing to leave the accomodation and offered to call for cab, which I thought was good.

Good restaurant

Posted 12 Dec 2016 on Hotels
We stayed in Villa C. Two of the staff spoke very good English. The restaurant iis in a train carriage and the food is excellent with vegetarian options. The room was spacious with sofa, table & desk. It was dark & chilly however. The bed was firm. The shower was not that good.

Nice hotel with old french indochina feel.

Posted 18 Apr 2016
Pros: Old french indochina architecture.
Location: Close to down town markets and the lake.
Nice old french indochina villa with beautiful gardens. Breakfast was very good. Close to Dalat train station, town markets and lake.

Walk down a garden path to your room.

Posted 8 Jan 2016 on Hotels
The Train Villa was pleasantly set in amongst gardens and had a lovely views over the surronding town. Breakfast in the train car or from the gardens alongside was a great start to our day. Our room itself was large. The bathroom was a wet room. Unfortunately the water took quite a while to drain away after a shower so using the toilet and bathroom itself was off limits for a time afterwards. The only problem we had.

Re-creating French Colonialism

Posted 26 Sep 2015 on Hotels
Quaint and nostalgic. Great effort to re-create French colonialism down to the décor and furnishings of the rooms and of cause the train villa where evening meals are served. Located close to the historic Dalat train station, the only real drawback is it is a bit of a hike out of town (4.5kms). Tip close your windows before leaving for the day otherwise the mozzies will end up having a feast in the evening and do the train ride when you first arrive. Excellent service with a traditional French breakfast.

Nice location but not a nice room

Posted 19 Aug 2015 on Hotels
The place itself was pretty, the room however was musty, damp, the walls were wriggled with mould, the bed was damp. Shower went cold after a few minutes. We checked out early losing our money and moved onto another place. Shame since it's actually a really pretty location and the staff are nice enough. Tour assistance was offered when booking but that isn't th case.

Excellent getaway

Posted 24 Jun 2015 on Hotels
A group of small buildings with 2-3 rooms, each room has a separate entrance. Very quiet neighbourhood. Not that close to the city centre but still within walking distance. Considerate and competent staff. The only negative point is that every step taken on the upper floor is like thunder. Kinda destroys the atmosphere when your neighbours are a family of six.

Cute restaurant

Posted 24 Jun 2015 on Hotels
This hotel is a bit awak from the town centre but handy to the vintage railway and Dalat square . The sights in Dalat are spread out a bit so location not vital .Not a lot of restaurants in the immediate location , but the hotel's own restuarant in the converted railway carriage serves good meals and breakfasts .We ate there most nights. The girl who seems to almost single handedly run the place is really good and very helpful. The rooms were adequate but if you have a downstairs one , there is a lot of noise transfer from upstairs .
