I really enjoyed staying here. The dining area was rarely crowded, the food was passable (at least for a Canadian), the staff at the reception desk, dining hall and maintenance crew were always willing to help. The room I stayed in was great once they cleared up problems with the house phone, tub drain and hot water, which they attended to right away. If I return (I am 79) I’ll certainly stay here again.

There was not one single thing we liked about this resort. We disliked it so much, that we checked out and went to another resort. Literally through money in the trash. I would not ever book there again and would never recommend El Cid to anyone. In fact, I will advise people to run as fast as possible. The reviews on Expedia about this resort are far from true. I highly recommend Expedia to take them off their list of resorts.

The staff was very friendly and service minded, but the hotel management was very slow and greedy charging for ridiculous things like $5 for Internet for device per day.

I came to Cozumel for dive training and had a great experience at El Cid. The staff were very friendly, the room was spacious with everything I needed, and the cleaning staff took care of the room every day. I paid for the all-inclusive meal plan and enjoyed all meals and drinks - worth the month. I might consider upgrading to elite to get the butler service. Overall, It was a great experience and I’ll be back.

The view from the resort and the staff were amazing. The food they had was very good, but when we booked our vacation there were 2 restaurants for the all inclusive. When we arrived, 1 had closed and reopened as not part of the all inclusive. For the price the resort wasn’t bad.
