Relaxing, great diving, tasty meals
Posted 9 Jan 2024 on HotelsChindonan is located in a remote place and I had no problem getting there after being picked up at the port from the ferry - 45 minute speedboat ride. I came here for the diving and it did not disappoint. The food at the restaurant was tasty and offered a variety, including for vegetarians. All units require many steps to get there so it’s not for those who don’t want or cannot walk distances and stairs.

Worst experience of my life
Posted 28 Oct 2019 on HotelsMy experience at the hotel was very terrible and very bad.
It was the worst experience of my life.
The staff over there was totally not helpful.
They charge for literally everything and there are so many hidden costs.
They charge for snorkelling gear aswell and they even charge for towels
And they don't tell about this at first only at the time of final billing they include all the charges.
Dive instructor / Manager -Kenith (Denmark) is very bad and rude and he doesn't know how to behave with customers.
He was not helpful and he was very rude and he doesn't know how to talk to ladies aswell
I will definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone
Don't go there at all
You will have a very bad experience.
Dive instructor Shawn from UK is really good and he was helpful and scuba diving with him was out of the world
But other than that the experience was really really bad

Hi,
For the first time in 10 years, we as Chindonan Dive Resort, were shocked by the presence of guests.
We would like to inform the reader of this review, that the guest were acting against Philippine law of Animal Protection, Republic Act No. 9147, by killing numerous protected animals on our property. The guests were also shouting at our staff continuously.
Your shouting were done in front of other guests and that is where Ken stepped in to intervene as respect to other guests enjoying their dinner.
We always ask our guests to read our big activity boards in the restaurant and our brochure in your room which clearly state all of our prices for activities.
We also have a website that gives all the information about our activity prices.
We have our prices shown various places for you to get informed before and during your stay. We are not sure where the hidden fee is here.
On top of this we did tell you the prices for activities, except the snorkelling gear (3$ for a full day), which we therefore removed on your final bill.
We were asked for discount various times on numerous activities during your stay, thus it seems contradicting that you did not know prices before the final bill.
Our staff were literally running around to comply with all of your requests - which weren't few, respectfully.
We do hope our upcoming guests will respect the beautiful nature we have around our property, and please feel free to visit our website to find all the information you need before arrival. You'll then be prepared to be amazed by our diving, snorkelling, relaxation and beautiful natural surroundings, which we proudly protect.
Best regards

We loved this resort! The views are fantastic! Each unit has a terrace for sitting and enjoying the views. They also have made several other places with comfortable chairs and hammocks to sit and enjoy the time. All sorts of water sports are available: kayaks, snorkeling, island hopping, and of course diving! We are not divers but we loved everything else. I went out snorkeling right in front of the resort, straight from our lounge chair. It was gorgeous. Everything we did was gorgeous! The staff is super nice and professional. The food was delicious. We loved it all. Jut a warning: my husband and I are in our 70s and this resort is geared towards a younger set. You have to hop on and off boats and there is a lot of climbing of stairs. But for us it was no problem. Just be warned that if you have mobility issues, this isn't the place for you. Otherwise, we are going back for sure!!

Ken, Sean, Johanas and thw diving crew were excellent. The resort is well positioned to access all the ship wrecks in the bsy.
The local girls who operate the kitchen were fantastic. Evening buffet provided great meals and a variety of seafood, curries and fresh salads.
I can highly recommend this resort for those divers who wish to be in the middle of the Coron Bay and direct access to the wrecks.

Quaint... this is a family owned and operated place that is very upscale hostel. A lot of work to keep the place up as it’s semi remote..
The operator has done a lot of work to make the place work. The food is quite good as the breakfast and dinners are included in the daily rate. Lunch is okay and not overly expensive... wonderful staff All of them. Good value
