Simple but good
Posted 14 Sep 2018
Pros: Area (city center), staff, cleanliness, price.
Location: Cork City Center is just on the other side of the River Lee, with shops, restaurants and a lot of pubs, all in walking distance (max 10 minutes).
The room was simple, but had everything: a double bed, wardrobe, desk, a chair, severla outlets to use, heating and even a mirror on the wall. The condition of the room was excellent, heating works very well, and the reception staff were very helpful and responsive. The appartements come with a kitchen (shared), with plenty of fridge space, tea and coffee and a big table.

Manage your expectations and you'll be fine
Posted 27 Aug 2018 on HotelsThe good:
- Location (right across the bridge leading to the central area in Cork; short walk to most sites)
- Good service (attentive and helpful, gave us a lot of tips on really great activities and sites)
- Clean room
- Working lift; good for handicapped access (am not handicapped, but have been so I notice these things – however, please don’t take my word for it and call the hotel to verify; I’m not sure what I may have missed).
- Price – you probably won’t find anything this central for much cheaper
The bad:
- No private bathroom in most rooms; bathrooms are shared among many different rooms and have poor ventilation… so they smell really bad. Bathrooms are also okay for limited handicapped access, but only if the person has some mobility and maybe some help. Not sure how accessible the toilet/shower would be.
- Rooms are small and spartan
- Parking is limited to street parking or a lot that is a 5-10 minute walk
- Wifi in rooms is okay, but not the best
Conclusion: Manage your expectations. If you are okay with a private room in a hostel-like setting, this is a good option for you. For us, it was fine – nothing to really like or dislike. Just a small, basic, clean place to stay.

BEWARE!!! I would not recommend this hotel which seems like it is a scam. Had to pay for this room in advance. Got to Cork, could not find parking anywhere to get to the hotel. Called the number to this hotel at least 20 times from 2 pm and thereafter , no one ever answered. Finally decided to stay at a nice B & B about 20 miles from Cork. Got to our room and this hotels number called us at about 10 pm without leaving a message.

Try Somewhere Else.
Posted 14 Aug 2018 on HotelsAvoid. This place is good for backpackers & college kids, but not for families. Bathrooms are dirty & moldy. Walls are thin. Furniture & carpet is new, but walls need to be painted.

Cheap and cheerful
Posted 6 Aug 2018 on HotelsExactly what we needed- absolutely nothing fancy about this place but it was cheap, clean and right in the centre of town. Perfect for somewhere cheap for a short stay. The staff were really friendly and very helpful.

Pros: Clean, comfortable, airy, super friendly front desk staff
Location: make sure you walk all over Cork! it's a lovely town for long strolls along the River Lee
We had a great night at the Blackmore Court, and had fun listening to World Cup fans cheering on their teams down the street!

The property was in a good location, a short walk to the popular areas, pubs, and shopping. The desk staff was friendly and provided recommendations. There was no AC in my room so I woke up sweaty once or twice, and it had a slight odor to it noticeable when I would walk inside.
