"Very difficult to get to - hour and a half of bumpy roads to Carate, then a 3.5k hike. The logistics were not well communicated, but worked out fine. Hot (mid-April visit). The grounds are pretty special with spider monkeys frolicking in the trees right above the tents and ocean waves supplying 24-7 white noise. The guided hike into the National Park was underwhelming - the wildlife was superb, but you only skirt the periphery of the park and don't get to really explore the old growth. "

"The view from absolutely everywhere is stunning. We had the chance to see a plethora of birds and monkeys from our little pool in our balcony. The drive there is a little challenging but the location makes it all worth it. Taking a shower indoor/outdoor is one of a lifetime experience. "

"Beautiful place with fabulous staff willing to do ANYTHING to make your experience better. Expedia does not tell you it is insanely difficult to drive to and near impossible without 4 wheel drive. That's really essential information and a massive failure on their part. The reason the property doesn't have parking is that nobody drives there. They don't even have a sign on the road. "The stay was amazing. The host was wonderful and helped us organize dinner reservations and tours. He was very helpful. The rooms were very clean along with the whole property. The breakfast was wonderful and he was very accommodating to our large group. There was a lot of wildlife we saw from the common area including many birds and monkeys. "I loved my stay ay Oro! Clean, the air conditioning was a blessing in the heat! The rooms are a walkup, one short flight of stairs. Super good pizza and salads, 2 blocks away, beside the post office. As happens frequently in Central America, the checkin attendant didn’t spesk English, so just log in to the internet and use Google translate and all will be fine. I recommend!"

"This is a perfect getaway hotel for couples, friends, and even families. The hotel is incredibly well designed and the staff members are extremely thoughtful and accommodating. "First off, the staff at this quaint lodge were hands down amazing. Enrique and Christina took care of all our food and beverage needs and then some! Silvia, the manager, handled all our other needs quickly and made us feel special! The cleaning crew made sure our room was like new every day! Christophe and Sebastian checked in with us daily to make sure everything was going smoothly for us. Christophe even hooked us up with the airport pickup upon our departure and overnight stay in San Jose before leaving Costa Rica. The food stole the show at this location! Unique dishes were presented at each lunch and dinner that combined locally grown foods with a healthy I’d say European flair! Outstanding ~ well done chefs! Even the desserts were a surprise! If I could change anything about the stay it would have been the pillows and having a regular coffee maker in the room! I’m super picky about my pillow tho!!! And the European espresso machines are just not my thing! So really these are minor complaints and a matter of one’s personal taste! Lastly, the property itself is set up high to afford an amazing view of the ocean. Birds are a plenty with Toucans landing on the trees above the pool area. We also got to see the humpback whales on our snorkel tour. If you are looking for a unique, personal experience in a lush location with an ocean view, this is your spot!"
