Very clean and friendly. Beautiful reception and staff were kind and efficient in getting us in the room early before check in which was nice.
There was building works going on so it was quite noisy at times. The rooms wardrobe was coming off the wall and the doors were hard to open. The floors were very loud. Very creeky so you couldn’t move around quietly. We felt we were probably disturbing the room below us due to the floor. Our room was smaller than the one advertised however it was still very nice. Over very nice and would stay again.
Excellent stay at the Ascot Hotel! Hotel is perfectly situated for a weekend's stay in Copenhagen with tourist attractions within walking distance. Comfortable, well-equipped room and friendly staff.
Great area. Lovely communal areas. The room lacked a mirror other than the bathroom. The coffee machine was chargeable which we were unimpressed with. The room had no bath mat, one of the radiators was broken. The room was not cleaned or towels replenished so the housekeeping was poor. The room was old and needed an update - its clear that it is an older hotel.
Overall it was ok value for money and the bar and staff were great but if you like a really nice room with good amenities probably not the place to stay!
Our first visit to Copenhagen for our honeymoon, we loved the room, it was very modern and had a balcony, staff super friendly and the location was excellent to explore the city by foot, metro and train
Loved this charming hotel. Unfortunately the desk clerk was visibly ill and miserable with a respiratory illness and should not have been working or should been masked. As a traveler with asthma I wish I had not had contact with this person, who was quite lovely but definitely contagious, putting me at risk.
Warm welcome, our first room was below ground level and had an aircon issue but reception sorted this no trouble. Rooms are modern & comfortable and nice reception area & classic bar.
Anyone who wants an early night, maybe don't have a room at the front of the hotel as the outdoor music venue is lively between 8 & 10pm.
We booked Ascot for a 3 night city break and were not disappointed. The lobby and bar/lounge areas are very stylish and we had a warm welcome at reception with very helpful staff.
The room had a boutique feel about it and was well laid out with high quality furniture and many lighting options including a queen sized bed. There was a coffee machine, mini bar and fridge plus kettle though only the instant coffee/tea was free - there was also air conditioning but you could open the window which we appreciated. The one slight negative was a lack of power points and in particular no USB points which is odd as the room looked like it had been recently refurbished
The bathroom was excellent and had a large glass enclosed walk-in shower with a huge ceiling mounted shower head and plenty of complimentary shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash and more importantly plenty of shelf space to store toiletries ( a feature often lacking in many hotels). The only thing we could have done with was a shaver point.
There is no restaurant, however there are plenty of eateries nearby but the hotel does have a large dining room in which the buffet breakfast is served. The buffet is of very high quality with a great selection of cereals, breads, pastries, meats etc plus a limited hot offering. If you do stay here I would definitely recommend the breakfast!
Overall excellent value for money and a refreshing change from the bland 'chain' hotels.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
When checked in we arrived to the room which smelled of mildew. The hotel was also noisy where we could hear the people above us.
The breakfast buffet was not worth the fee. I ate mainly croissants and fruit. Most breakfast buffets have pastries at breakfast as well.
I do not think staff came in to our room during our stay as the garbage can was not emptied. I have no problem using a towel more than once but would also like to have the garbage cans emptied.
I spent time reviewing hotels and expected more considering there were so many hotels to choose from.
The room, a deluxe double room with a king bed, had a comfortable bed, was clean, modern, and tiny. The hot components of breakfast were not wonderful, but the others were great.
Fantastic, beautiful hotel. Breakfast was amazing! Only downside was the cubicle style toilet & shower unit actually in the bedroom. The sort of room you can only stay in if you know someone "really well" or have been together for a long time! 😂
We were told upon arrival that we'd been upgraded for free. I don't think anyone who actually wants to rest/sleep should have to pay for the room we were given. I can only assume the people assigned this room before us had been moved after complaining. The noise from the dining room area above and the automatic door to our corridor was frequently unbearable. Sounds of stomping and dragging of furniture happened until around midnight and resumed around 6am.
I would not recommend staying here longer than 1 night if you're given a room below the reception area. Lovely decor, but not at all value for money if you want to sleep properly during your stay.
