O have used the Rio Othon Palace many, many times. The hotel has done a great renovation of its lobby, lobby bar lounge, pool area and roof terrace. Excellent views, and aesthetics. Just wonderful, however, I stayed in room 1213 oceanfront, great view but it had a water pipe water marking in the bathroom which I can only bla.e for lack of attention by their facilities management. Otherwise excellent!

I had an Ocean view room and it was spectacular. It’s a very convenient hotel if you want to do tours either through the hotel or operators do daily pickups there. The Location right on Copacabana Beach is very convenient. It’s a great place to stay in Rio.

Area is a little schetchy , especially at night. But overall safe. Inside hotel could be better , lounge needs a little improvement.

This is NOT a 4 stars standards
Doesn’t look at all like on the pictures. So old. So outdated. Mold, rust, stains, dirt, unsanitary conditions, everything so old that all the plastics turned yellow.
Poor quality breakfast.
Checkin/checkout taking AGES (40min for the checkin) and one very arrogant lady at the reception.
Very slow wifi.
No plug near the bed.
Also the pool area doesn’t open until 9am so it’s impossible to see the sunrise from there (like on the pictures). AND the pool was in maintenance my whole stay without previous notice.
Walk your way from this terrible place!

Our balcony view of the beach was incredible!
We had an issue with the AC in our original room but staff moved us to an equally lovely room in a timely fashion.
VIP breakfast was a definite plus

Modern lobby and rooftop restaurants. Staff attentive. Room large with beautiful view of beach, but also had some “old world charm,” especially the plumbing. Bed large but old.

The staff were helpful and professional at all times. We upgraded our room to get a full ocean view with no problem.
