Nothing fancy, but clean, comfortable, and you can park at your door, which is great in winter!

The room was drafty, old in poor condition, and tv did not work.

Hi Linda. You visited Cooke City in the winter months. And you complain about it being drafty? The low temperature during the night of your stay was 19 degrees. Why didn't you just turn on the heat? When I cleaned the room the next day, I noticed that the heat was turned off. You simply could have turned it on. It reaches a temperature of 84 degrees. I'm certain that would have solved your "draft" issue. Other than the property being 96 years old this year, what exactly was in "poor" condition? When leaving a hateful and nasty review, you should be specific in your hateful and nasty comments. As for the TV, it absolutely works just fine. Immediately after reading your review I went to rooms 13 and 14 (I'm not sure which one was yours and which one was your traveling companion's). The TV works just fine in both rooms. Perhaps it was operator error. And for that matter, if you had issues with your TV, why didn't you walk the 25 feet to the office to let me know. I would have been happy to walk the 25 feet back to your room and show you how to use the TV. If your complaints were legitimate (or due to the fault of Alpine Motel), I would take this review squarely on the chin, and I would offer a full refund. But your complaints are both silly and frivolous. Best of luck to you in your future travels. And best of luck to the hotels at which you'll be staying. They will certainly need it.

Easy to find, friendly staff, centrally located in town, clean and comfortable. Would stay there again.

Alpine Motel just turned 88 years old, and it has a deep and interesting history. I'm just so glad you realize that just because a property is older does not mean it is unclean or in bad shape. So many people, for some odd reason, equate "older" with "unclean" and "rundown". Most people traveling to Cooke City hear the word "city" and have expectations of a large, metropolitan area with modern, urban elegance. And that type of lodging simply doesn't exist here. So, thank you for recognizing that we are indeed and older property, but that we also maintain cleanliness, function, and comfortability. It is close to the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone. It is quiet and clean. The price was right. I liked that it had a microwave and television.
