A decent place to stay! The room was fine, if a little cold, but the additional heater warmed it up well. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly and I had a lovely pint in the bar. Coniston is well worth a visit and The Sun is definitely worth staying at.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable pub/restaurant/hotel with its own parking. A wonderful terrace with great views to enjoy whilst having a afternoon/evening drink. Great spot for a short stay in the lakes.

Lovely room overlooking the beautiful scenery. The breakfast was fantastic and they even gave the dogs sausages which they loved.

Unfortunately, I fractured my ankle the week before our latest trip and the management team at The Sun were extremely understanding and accomodating a booking move at short notice, something they weren't required to do via Hotels.co.uk. Thank you so much - we will see you soon!

Great staff, food and views
Posted 13 Aug 2024 on HotelsLovely little hotel that serves great food and has the friendliest staff you will ever meet. Had a good sized, comfortable room with a lovely view. We’re very dog friendly, even cooking an extra breakfast sausage for her! Would highly recommend, we had a wonderful stay.
