Property was very comfortable, bathroom well stocked with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel along with towels. It's a shame maid service isn't included in the price as we stayed 3 nights and the bin in the toilet wasn't emptied at all in that time. I believe maid service is available for an extra cost. Very good location and very friendly staff. The external door bangs whenever people come in or out which isn't ideal if you're in the rooms at the front but this is also down to other guests not being considerate. They kindly delivered a chocolate each to our room the night before Easter which was a nice touch. We would stay again.

I arrived very late and thankfully there was a night person to check me in.
The room was ok. There was a bit of garbage still on the floor, the safe was broken and unusable, the larger bed was actually two singles pushed together. There was a cockroach in my shower next to the open window on the last day. The AC worked well tho.
The pool area was very much lacking seating and the only hammocks were next to the children’s playground.
There isn’t much nearby and its a bit of a walk to any restaurants. The bus station to Brazil side of the falls is only a few blocks. There is also a large supermarket very close.
The staff was helpful to direct me to the bus. They did try to sell me a ticket for Foz du Icuagu Park for a huge markup when they are easily purchased at the park. If you are paying cash for any tours it is cheaper than if you want to pay by card. They did organize transport for me for the Argentina side of the falls and to the Argentina airport.
Breakfast had a decent selection of options.

Good value room close to everything
Posted 8 Nov 2018 on HotelsSimple room in a nice location close to the old part of town. No breakfast available on site, but there is a shared kitchen for self caterers. Good option for budget travelers who want to spend a night in Colonia.

Clean buts smells
Posted 14 May 2018Nice clean hotel in a good location however there is a musty smell which I believe is caused by dampness. They use too much cleaning product and auto fragrance dispenser. Breakfast is bread rolls and coffee served at a neighboring hostel. Common areas are nice.

Friendly, Well-located, Good Value
Posted 8 Mar 2018Posada del Rio is a good choice for travellers wanting a comfortable and reasonably priced place to stay for a few nights while exploring Colonia in a more liesurely way than a day trip allows. The staff are young and friendly. The included continental breakfast that is served in a related hostel around the corner is adequate. There is a kitchen for the use of guests and outdoor tables as well. The Posada is an easy walk from anywhere you might want to go.

Nice hotel in a great location
Posted 2 Mar 2018Lovely hotel which is only a ten minute walk from the port! It is walking distance to everything in the historic part of Colonia. The hotel itself is very charming and staff are helpful.
