Stayed here 7 years ago and it was excellent, especially the food.
Now, it’s very expensive, hasn’t been maintained and the food offering is average at best.
I was disappointed to be honest. The Pheasant Inn is now part of a chain and cost has obviously been stripped out.
I won’t visit again.

Really really small room and very very expensive. Breakfast was good though and things were clean so not terrible but not great either.

Nice except for room 14
Posted 8 Aug 2024 on HotelsNice hotel and lovely staff but we had booked a superior room and got room 14. This was unfortunately right over the kitchen so the kitchen fan noise was loud until 11pm then started again at 6.50am. We totally get that this is necessary to run the kitchen but this should be warned at time of booking and not be charged as a superior room.

Quaint accommodations with a beautiful view of the gardens. Food was exceptional on the premises- British comfort food! Beds were uncomfortable but adequate

Nice stay but needs work
Posted 26 Jul 2024 on HotelsThe Pheasant is off the beaten track and in a lovely quiet spot! It was in a nice but quite isolated area, so driving to places is a must.
The bar area is nice and rooms are comfortable, however cleaning needs to be attended to as we had the previous guest’s litter in the bathroom bin, and coffee spills down the wall in the main room.
Beds very comfortable and amenities were good-ironing board and hairdryer, plus soap and shampoo etc. Only downside was it was a hot day and evening and the towel rail in the bathroom was on, so the room was so hot! No way to turn this off unfortunately.
Room had a fan, but it was FULL of dust.
Staff were pleasant enough, but it felt a bit ‘scatty’ and understaffed, and in the middle of doing something, they would start talking to eachother and their attention would get drawn away from what they were initially doing.
Food was nice but very overpriced.
Best bit was the breakfast as there was loads out and a good variety to choose from
Overall a pleasant stay, but a few areas need looked at
