Lovely people and place
Holly and Mark are wonderful hosts and their little place is a joy to visit. They helped me to enjoy the area and were available for chats and directions. You can walk to a nice secluded bay to swim in warm water. Or take a bus to other points of interest. Also next to a field of lovely cows ( I love cows!) Room was comfortable and shower hot. No complaints. I will definitely stay again.

Breakfast was great and the workers that make the breakfast are super nice and helpful. This place is a nice place to stay if you need to catch the ferry in Paquero or want to visit the Curu National Wildlife Refuge. There's a bus that goes by or you can take a taxi. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Awesome hosts!
Great hosts and cool digs. The yoga/workout studio is amazing with a great view of the coast and iguanas crawling up the trees! They weren’t serving dinner during our stay but kindly offered the use of their well equipped kitchen. They did however serve breakfast which was fresh and delicious; the coffee was superb. Cheers to the most helpful hosts we’ve had in Costa Rica.

Some computer glitch meant I had booked breakfast, even though none was available. The hosts went to some trouble to arrange breakfast. Also, I got a free lift down to Montezuma. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Rooms etc was fine. Scarlet macaws down by the beach was a highlight.

It may take awhile before this hotel lives up to its tourbook rating again. Whether it's new owners or something else going on, and despite very friendly, welcoming hosts, this is now a bare-bones operation with a non-functioning restaurant-bar and so little air circulation in our dark room that we had to run the a/c all night. "Ecotel"? We found no evidence of anything like that....

Great for Birders
Although a long drive, some on unpaved roads, the birding was excellent thanks to our guise Jaun Carlos. The small restaurant was run by a Canadian chef who prepared one of the best wood-fired pizzas that we have enjoyed.

The rooms are very basic without the normal amenities you would find in a regular hotel. Wi-fi service was sp0oradic at best. The owners were very friendly and I appreciated the ride to the airport.

A nice hotel by the quiet city of Tambor, a few minutes from the airport. I felt welcomed and well taken care of!

Nice owners, very basic accommodations
We only stayed one night. Our room was very simple, but clean. No ventilation and no AC, so not comfortable for sleep. Bed had a single sheet on a bare mattress, and pillows were filled with chunks of foam. Former pizza restaurant is closed, but a good breakfast is available for purchase. Not a good place to spend time during the day. Just an inexpensive place to stay.

Everything I hoped!
The rooms are beautiful and the food is top notch . So happy with choosing this hotel. Try the pizza! Oh and you must do the snorkeling tour!! The staff is so helpful and makes sure you get the full experience . Such a beautiful location and a short walking distance to the beach. Would come here again in a heart beat

Nice ecotel with friendly owners
Mark and Holly were extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. They recommended excursions, drove us to the airport and always made sure we were comfortable during our stay. They resturant at their ecotel had delicious food and great prices.

Mark and Holly were Excellent Hosts!!
I love the area of the hotel, there are monkeys in the trees lots of iguana's, a quick walk to the beach, a golf course near by, an airport that you can fly into, car rental nearby, grocery store close by, etc. etc. The ONLY downfall is that if you want to fly direct from Canada to Liberia, the roads between the 2 ferry's is terrible, you can only drive about 20km - 30km/hr because it is that rough!!! The scenery on the way is beautiful but you just dread driviing on that road because you may lose a tire on the way, it definately made you feel like you had no shocks left!!! Drive time would be cut down at least half an hour if the road was paved!!!

Really liked Holly and Mark, who own and run hotel; very accommodating and helpful. Good food! Very Peaceful, kind of isolated, but just off road and bus stop to nearby town.

Fantastic staff and fabulous food!
About Staff: This was our first trip to Costa Rica, the hotels staff (owners actually) made it a point to spend time with every guest to make them comfortable and provide guidance ranging from where to visit, what activities to do, what roads to take, where to buy stuff and travel tips. Their advice helped us avoid gravel roads on our trip to Tamarindo. About hotel location: If you are into bird watching this hotel is a perfect place. We saw 2 pairs of Toucans fly right across the hotel in open sky above - it looks like the area near to the hotel is breeding ground for different species of birds. All we had to do was to get up early and walk up to the hotel restaurant for bird watching while having breakfast. This Hotel is about 20 minutes drive from Refugio Nacional Curú park. This is a fantastic place to spend a day bird & wild like watching (we spotted colorful Macaw, deer, spider monkeys) take the boat ride to Tortuga Islands (operated by the park authorities) for snorkeling and private beaches. About rooms: Rooms are super ordinary - guess it is in line with the price you pay for. Rooms and bathroom were a little below expectation but A/C were working fine.

We booked originally for 2 nights, but it was so good that we extended the stay for 2 more. Maec and Holly are great host and you feel warm anf welcome in this lovely place.

Skön oas mitt djungeln.
Mycket bra. Lugnt och avskilt. En oas mitt i djungeln med gångavstånd till stranden. Bra och flexibel service men inget för den som är van vid all inclusive. Här kunde vi verkligen slappna av.
