The house is a beautiful property. Everyone should stay and enjoy the architecture. Our host was pleasant and we enjoyed visiting with him. With it being during the holidays, he was a bit hectic.
I left for work too early to get breakfast although they did leave cereal and bananas for me. Also, the sink was so small, it was difficult to wash hands.
I have stayed there several times including just a few weeks ago. The facility is beautiful. We were “greeted” by a rather surly woman who did not offer us a tour. (My daughter with me had never stayed there before)I had called a couple of hours ahead of time to let them know exactly when we would be arriving but she seemed anxious to just get us to our room. The breakfast was delicious though we had to go elsewhere to get it so we missed the interesting breakfast conversation we expect at a BnB. Nathan is a great host and wish we could have spent more time talking with him
It was like stepping back in time with the architecture and furnishings from the late 1800's. The property was clean and comfortable. We were met at the door by Mary who invited us in and explained things and then showed us to our room. A full sit down breakfast was provided a few blocks away at the Decker Hotel which is owned by the same people. Nathan talked with each group while they ate. A
Beautiful rooms and facilities. We slep very well on comfortable beds. Breakfast conversation with guests and host was a highlight. Very congenial and interesting host
The house is beautifully restored and furnished. We slept so well because it was quiet. The WiFi signal wasn't strong so kept dropping our devices, so bring a book, because that is the perfect place to read!
This is such a Beautiful 18th Century home with beautiful furniture and area History. We booked this stay last minute for a local get away and it was just what we needed!
This is an old restored mansion home. The antiques and woodwork were beautifully restored. Hostess was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was off-site in a restaurant. Wish we could have eaten in the lovely dining room. Evening candlelit dessert was a special touch.
Unique & historic property. Beautifully furnished with amazing antique decor. Loved all the little touches of candy & absolutely delicious desserts offered. One of a kind stay. Highly recommend!
This is a cute spot. The room was nice. The owner came in the morning to make breakfast and we got to tour the entire manor. It's also very close to the Maquoketa Caves, which was why I chose this place.
It’s a lovely old house, stunning decorations, nice little town. We can’t wait for breakfast!! 🤗
But there’s a keurig machine in every room so we already had coffee!!! ☕️
1880s Victorian style house with a lot of history the only bad thing staying there was the road construction up the street otherwise everything was awesome
