We looking for cheap night to sleep and the Royal Inn delivered. Decent bang for your buck… just keep in mind what your are paying. Basics were all good - clean, quiet (for us), and a place to stop for the night.

Whoever rated this 3 stars should be ashamed. You can only clean stained outdated facilities so much. Dingy and old. Girl at desk sweet. Man cleaning nice. That was it. Toilet did not flush properly. Flies in room. No other availability or would have left. Very disappointed and surprised given the overall rating.

Came in and found roaches running all over the place. We hwere given roach spray to keep in the room if we needed it. Wont stay again

Sorry for any inconvenience.Our motel has no problems like this ever before.May be some customer brought those roach in there baggage.Monday morning we will call our exterminator.and will be taken care of.Thank you for notifying us.

The first room we got had bugs in it . Second room wasn’t as bad bedding had burn holes in it . Wasn’t very clean. I wouldn’t stay here again .

very smoky in non-smoking room, charge fees for late check in which is not mentioned in expedia, charge fees for additional towels etc.... Not recommend at all.

Worst room & service EVER!! After a four hour drive to Clearfield we arrived at the “Royal” Inn about 9:00 pm & checked in. Went to our room as soon as we opened the door and the odor of a 2 pack a day chain smoker hit you! My wife and I are former smokers but the room just stank! There was no way we could have slept in that room. We returned to the desk and we told the room didn’t smell like smoke. The manager said they did have an emergency room but it was more money and asked if we could afford it (what audacity) he wouldn’t show us the room until we paid a the higher price. After our first experience this motel was not getting another dime out of us if we couldn’t check out the replacement room. We demanded our money back and were told that since we booked it through Expedia they wouldn’t refund us. So we left and went to the Holiday Inn Express in Clearfield and rented a room 3 times the price & it was worth every penny. We called Expedia the next day and they told us the Royal Inn had to approve the refund. The Royal Inn wouldn’t approve it and said we wouldn’t accept the emergency room because it cost more. We then spoke with a manager at Expedia who called the hotel again to try to get our refund approved. The Royal Inn then told them we didn’t complain about a smoke smell, we complained about a fly in the room. Such LIARS!!! Expedia offered a $50 credit for the trouble. BS!! Our advice to anyone considering staying at this dump, avoid it like the plague.
