"Nice place but tricky to find. In a poor area by canal but just a 10 minute walk to Chester centre along towpath. Parking is expensive at £12 per day. It is a converted old mill and covers both sides of the canal with an internal walkway. Can be a bit confusing finding your way around and also beware of low beams and lots of stairs. Free Spa was good and breakfast also. Main meals are quite dear."

Knocked a star off for the bed; such a hard mattress, neither of us could get comfy and I woke up with backache. If firm mattresses are for you, then great! "The room was very dated, the bed was comfortable, but the bed sheet was dirty, the pillows were stained with no pillow protectors, the mattress had a protector but that was dirty. The bathroom again was dated, the toilet seat was loose, the shower was great but i had to clean it as it had hair and other bits in it. The breakfast was good, i don't think I'll stay there again. "

"Great location, close to the train station, walkable distance from shopping, parks and restaurants. Great buffet breakfast! We loved it so much we had an open night on our stay so came back for another night before moving on to Northern Ireland. Staff were accommodating, friendly and suggested a great pub down the road on the river for a late night dinner and gave us a couple complimentary drink vouchers for one of our nights! "

"Whilst it’s an older building, the reception area and rooms have been renovated and feel welcoming and comfortable. The leisure facilities need work though, changing rooms and showers are fine but pool area and jacuzzi pretty tired looking though warm and enjoyable just don’t look up at paint falling off the roof and the rusting rails.
