Excellent location. The staff in the pub were friendly and delightful. The room was clean. The double bed in room 7 needs a new mattress and a wood slate is underneath the bed and should be fixed. But overall a very pleasant stay for the one night.

Very convenient location for exploring York. Surprisingly quiet considering it's above a pub. It was a bit dilapidated, but very clean. Couldn't get the TV to work, and felt awkward to ask for assistance, since there's no front desk, just the pub.

The staff here was so nice! It isn't in the most scenic part of the city, but it was safe enough and the property was fine. There is a lovely deck outside overlooking a canal. If you are looking for a good deal that is a short walk from the more historic areas, this is a good choice.

This property is a simple room above a small pub. There was no landline phone. The bathroom had no shelves or hooks which was an issue because the shower overflowed onto the floor, soaking anything placed in the bathroom. The shower did not drain well, so the basin quickly filled and leaked out onto the floor.
It smelled like strong mildew.
There is no AC so we had a fan going and the window open at night. The street was very noisy below.
I tried to contact the management with some questions, but they did not respond to email and I did not get through on the phone.
With that being said, the price was good and the location fantastic. We had an easy walk to the sights in York. The people working in the pub below were very kind and helpful and the breakfast we had there was delicious.
Overall, we had a nice time, I just want people to have a good understanding of the property before choosing it.
