A lovely hotel in a great location. However the problem really is the staff. I know they don’t really care, it’s a job to them. But at least pretend to care! Room not cleaned despite asking several times. Waiting until 4:30pm for the room to be serviced is a tad poor. Being cashless is actually inconvenient for some guests. Just because the hotel can’t be arsed to go to the bank. And frankly only allowing spa treatment customers to use the pool is really bad. I didn’t want a spa treatment - I just wanted to swim a few lengths, is that too much to ask? It actually was. All front and no knickers with this place.

Very easy to find reception as it's all well sign posted. Checking in was very easy and they were ready for us early. Staff were very friendly and informative. Plenty of information leaflets of what's around and what amenities are withig the hotel and where. Dining options, booking advised. We booked breakfast which was a full English style buffet, pastries, fruit, yogurts, coffees, teas, juices etc etc. well worth it. Plenty of parking, there was a conference going on whilst we were there and parking wasn't an issue. We booked an apartment, very nice! Spacious clean and tidy. Absolutely love that the shower gel/shampoo hand wash is Pengaligons. Smelt amazing. There's an outside gym too, walk paths of you fancy going for a walk. Definitely will visit again.

Beautiful location although sound of traffic on dual carriageway dampens tranquility. Hotel was lovely. House keeping was poor. Only one towel provided for two people?!?! They also took our key from power slot. Food options on site are basic.

We booked a apartment and it wasn’t the best The rooms are extremely old fashioned! No Netflix no air con! The decking is extremely filthy so it makes it very slippy No bowls provided in room! 1 bin bag for 4 dash! No oven gloves just 2 small towels that are thin also if you want the room cleaned over the 4 days it’s £25!!!!

Hotel was in the right spot, near some amazing lakes. Distance to other villages were not to far by car. Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Cotswold

After choosing this hotel for what it had to offer was very disappointing. For our 3 night stay the spa was closed, the pool was closed and one restaurant was closed. When booking there was nothing to stay that these facilities would not be open so false advertising at it's best! A expensive place to stay when you cant use most of the facilities. The rooms were lovely and clean but will not be returning.

There are not enough staff. Service lets them down overall. We had suite 328 which had lovely views and was very specious. The bathroom was very tired, peeling paint, shabby floors, taps that had gone dull with use. Also, the details said bath, shower implying both when it is a shower over a bath and we were told all suites had the same. Servicing of our room was very late in the day 4pm or later when we were back from being out all day so not at all convenient and a bit hot and miss with what they did. Restaurants and bars were OK but not open on every day. In the lounge we ordered two pots of tea (they don’t do hot beverages by room service some sort of health and safety?!?) the pots arrived but I had to take them back as the tea was missing they delivered just hot water. Remedied quickly and other bar service was good. The restaurant called Brassiere was closed on two of our four nights stay so we had a choice of a walk in pouring rain to the external Boathouse or room service. Room service was reliable but drinks arrived in bottles with no glasses and the glasses in the room were tiny tumblers. Also arrived without a bottle opener as they had used the wrong lift and had to abandon the service trolley and walk around the corridors (so the staff they have are not familiar with the hotel layout). No help with luggage on checkout (or checkin) We were told we could wait and in half an hour someone might be free but no guarantees. It is a shame as it has such potential.

The view from our balcony over the lake was just fabulous. Bit of confusion over booking breakfast; we booked it on Sunday evening for Monday morning. When we went into breakfast on the Monday, we were told that although they had our booking, we could not come in as we did not have a "blue token" and would need to go back the reception desk to sort this out. Eventually we were allowed in & called in to reception after breakfast where we were advised that we needed to pay for the breakfast, which we did.
