Our stay was in a beautiful, warm and comfortable room, with good transport links and in a good location. However, the bathroom light never worked (which would indicate it not being cleaned either), no DVD player was provided when asked for despite being advertised as available, the bedsheets were not cleaned or changed and neither were the towels replaced- cleaning appeared to be to a minimum (ie the bin was emptied). Unfortunately our room was also left insecure following the bin being emptied one day, as the host’s keys were left in the outside of the door, and when mentioned there was no apology or concern given despite our valuables and sentimental possessions being left exposed. There were incredibly offensive and inappropriate names on the Netflix accounts for use- made more concerning as this could be accessed or seen by children. The host also changed our room without asking us prior to our arrival (with the best intentions) and we are unable to check if we have lost money as a result. However, we think we saw our host upon departure, and she seemed very friendly in person. As a base to sleep in for our stay, and helpfully dog-friendly, this was more than suitable for our trip and we would definitely consider returning for another stay despite the hiccups.

Excellent welcome . Room cleaned every day. Full use of kitchen to cook your own food. Very near railway station. ( 10 minutes walk)

The host Jackie is very friendly, the room was a good size as was the on suite bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There is parking for three cars on the property drive way and we managed to park there for all of our four nights stay. It is situated close to the town with plenty of places to eat and drink and also walking distance of Astley Park. There is a kitchen for you to use and milk is supplied in the fridge . My only discrepancy is that we thought breakfast was supplied but this was only a bowl of cereal but at least it was something. Although the house is very old, our room was comfortable. The only downside to this is that you can hear every time someone walks up and down the stairs or are walking on the floor above you. The first two nights we had disturbed sleep due to this but the other two nights were okay.

Homely personal service at a bargain price.

Stayed for four nights. Jackie (host) was exceptional throughout. Great to regain that warm homely feeling after staying in typically impersonal chain hotels. Lovely Downton Abbey period room together with furniture to match. Modernised bathroom. More than everything needed is available to prepare self catering meals in the kitchen. Definitely stay again

Good accomodation

Jackie was nice to let me sleep in another room with better wifi since I wanted to watch a football match. It was kind of her. Everything in the room is nice and neat and tidy!
