Room was great the bar was a bit loud and they now have part of the lobby as restaurant which is kinda annoying but forgivable for how nice the hotel is
Joyce and Jean really made my stay at the Chicago Athletic Association one of the most stellar experiences I’ve ever had. They both went above and beyond to make sure I had whatever I needed and the attentiveness for the staff at large was impeccable. Check-in was a breeze and from there the accommodations were top-tier. The room was wonderfully appointed, and the hotel amenities could not be beaten. I will always come back to this hotel.
great hotel with strong history vibe and post industrial style room interior . great location that closes to a lot of major destinations. But for the size and facing of the room(basically looking at the other back of building about 20’ of distance), I think it’s overpriced.
Loved the historic charm of this place and the proximity to the parks and museums!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Staff was great the room and facility were well done. We would have appreciated a second luggage rack in the room without asking for it and a second bedside lamp. Poor directions from the Monroe Street entrance to the front desk but we managed. The check-in desk clerk guy was VERY HELPFUL!!
Such a beautiful fun property. I loved the historic but upgrade amenities, location and friendly staff. They went above and beyond to ensure all needs were met.
While the rooms are small, they have everything you need and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We really enjoyed the shower as well.
The dining in the lobby was great and service was good there. Finally the location is great if you want to be downtown by the park. There is a lot you can walk to from there.

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
Overall the property is stunning. The staff was kind. The rooms were decorated impressively. The beds in our room were worn out and I felt like a human taco. Likewise the pillows provided are about the worst I’ve ever had in an upscale hotel. While disappointing, the biggest disappointment was the closure of hotel amenities due to a plethora of private events. When we arrived even the seating in the lobby was reserved everywhere for a private party. Really nice place, but it feels like hotel guests are an after thought.
Great stay as always- beautiful property, rooms, Game Room is a gem, and excellent staff; just a couple notes:
Bring back The Milk Room!
The lobby seating was less inviting with so much turned over to assigned-seating dining.
Can the hotel offer at least complimentary coffee/tea for guests? I prepaid for breakfast but still had to pay $5 per cup of coffee.
I loved staying here. The rooms was very clean, the hotel was very clean, great location, right in front of the Bean, lots of shops around, and much more. Definitely recommend staying here or any business or vacation stays.
Well-designed, comfortable rooms with well-appointed furnishings.
The bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was strong and the soaps and shampoos were great.
I would stay here again.
