Worst Rental Experience I've Ever Had
Posted 20 Jul 2022 on HotelsA truly awful experience at the most poorly stocked vacation property I have ever rented. The property overlooks a terribly rundown neighborhood. Upon arrival, the front door lock was broken. The woman at the front desk argued with me for 20 minutes before calling a locksmith to do the repair. The fan for the A/C in the bedroom was barely blowing even at the highest setting. On day 2 they claimed to have a repair man at the property but the A/C fan was still very weak. I had to leave the A/C in the living room on to get the bedroom cool which made the living room freezing cold. In the evening on day 2 the owner returned my phone call to discuss the deficiencies but would not have a fair discussion about the issues at the property. After going back and forth about the failed a/c repair he demanded that I pack my things and leave in 30 minutes or he would throw all of my belongings out into the street. Being a 3rd floor apt and not knowing how crazy he is, I decided the best thing to do was pack up and leave.
I tried to convince him that I’m a reasonable person and willing to live with the deficiencies in the apartment for the next 3 nights, but he was rude, arrogant and threatening. He kept saying that he would throw my things out into the street and call the Police to help him. I told him we have a contract and he has no right to cancel the booking if I’m willing to accept the apt in its current condition. He kept threatening me, so I packed up & left to avoid a fight.

Due to Mr Kanare's continued abusive and offensive complaints to Studio365 staff the apartment manager offered him a full refund of his payment including the night he had just stayed and allowed him to find alternative accommodation elsewhere. Despite his long list of unfounded and unreasonable demands and complaints he did not take up this offer and said he would refuse to check out as he had a “contract” to stay. After continued issues The apartment manager had to ask this disruptive customer to leave the property. Again he refused and it culminated in the apartment manager calling the police to remove Mr Donald Kanare from our property. He left before the police turned up.
We do not take the decision to ask a customer to leave our property lightly and this is the first time in our 16 year history that we have had to take such a measure.
It is felt felt that after his initial issue on check in with the door lock (which was not broken) Mr Kanare went on a crusade to find fault with anything he could including complaints about the air-conditioning (which was not broken and confirmed by two visits by the air-conditioning engineer) we also had complaints about the number of forks provided and the low income Thai community next door (which he refers to as “run down”)

Great location, easy to take in the sights from this place, which is tucked down an ally. Parking is very limited and first come, first served from what I gathered. The 1 bedroom was spacious and furnished by IKEA. I ended up extending my stay in Chiang Mai by a week for personal reasons and simply extended my stay here. When I'm in town again, this will be my first choice. Value for money was brilliant

Excellent location and spacious modern apartment in a quiet cul de sac near Night Bazaar, Walking Streets and the Old City. No pool nor gym but there's a laundromat just across the very narrow lane. Fantastic value. I would most definitely stay there again when I'm in Chiangmai.

The apartment was very clean but for the money not a great deal we stayed in a hotel around the corner which has full facilities free breakfast bars swimming pool and less than half the cost but if you need an apartment it is ok and quite new I think

Thank you for taking the time to review Studio365. We are happy you found the room clean. But we do provide a full two bedroom apartment with separate lounge and full kitchen facilities. Yes there are cheaper hotels in the city with breakfast but there are also many more which are vastly more expensive. If you had a room this size (a suite) in a hotel you would not get anything like this for the price you pay at our property.
