If you're poorly prepared, traveling can be overwhelming. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these helpful hints and enjoy a trouble-free start to your time in Scotts Valley. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a hassle-free flight experience is to plan ahead. So, let's start with the basics: passport, travel docs, credit cards and any vital medications. Next, take on board items that'll help while away those hours, like your laptop or a magazine. You'll also want to pack your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of earphones. Finally, don't forget to chuck in toiletries like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a spare set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer up in natural fibers and bring a sweater in case you get cold. Opt for well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell during the flight. Leave the stilettos and hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- Most travelers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. There are plenty of ways to lower your risk. Wear a pair of compression tights or socks, stay hydrated and keep your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or perform some stretches in your seat.
