Browse the paintings in one of the world’s finest galleries and then take a leisurely stroll through the French landscape garden.

The Château de Chantilly is a vast complex with two magnificent castles dating back centuries. It comprises the 16th-century Petit Château and the Grand Château. The site is the home of the world-famous Musée Condé, which holds a great array of paintings from the 15th and 16th centuries. Spend an entire day discovering the gems of this elegant complex.

Visit the Musée Condé to see its extraordinary collection that is only matched in France by Le Louvre. Spend time admiring the thousands of paintings, drawings and engravings. Notable artists include Raphael, Pierre Mignard and Botticelli. Perurse the library, which holds around 30,000 books.

Take a look through the Living Museum of the Horse to learn about the majestic animals. The museum is housed in the Great Stables and is dedicated to equine art and history. Peruse more than 1,200 works of art, including paintings, ceramics and statues of horses.

There are occasional events and concerts featuring world-famous bands, such as Pink Floyd, in the complex’s grounds. Walk through the picturesque garden and capture photos of the majestic châteaux. Take a guided tour to learn about the history of the two buildings. Relax in front of a view of the Sylvie Pond, the Prince Bassin and the Grand Canal. These water features and the garden stretch across 19,274 acres (7,800 hectares) of land.

Dine at the site’s upscale restaurant, where there is a range of French-style patisserie options.

There is a fee to visit the grounds, which are open daily from morning until early evening. During low season, the site is closed on Tuesdays.

The Château de Chantilly is in the center of the rural commune outside Paris. The Manse Garden and the Grand Canal are among the nearby features in this scenic region.
