Property is in great location but needs a major renovation. 3 main elevators look more like freight elevators with all the door scratches, dents and worn carpeting. The hotel is 100 years old and has probably 100 layers of chipping and peeling paint on all the molding and doors. Our bathroom had a cracked sink, rust in the light fixture and around the toilet, and a chipped soap dish. Add to that the sound on the television died the 2nd night of our stay. Will say the bed and pillows were perfectly firm - probably the best sleep I’ve had in quite a long time.

This is a great place to stay in Charleston. The hotel is very vintage which is what we were looking for in a place to stay . The rooms were clean and large, we even had two bathrooms!It’s so close to everything and the staff is friendly and accommodating to their guests. There’s a restaurant and a Starbucks on the premises. It was a terrific trip and a wonderful experience.

A beautiful century old hotel with a grand lobby. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, which was quiet and spacious. Located on a major shopping and night-life street, and only a 20 or so minute walk to the historic market and waterfront.
