Why stay anywhere else?!
Posted 29 Jul 2019 on HotelsI brought three friends from the US for a hut to hut trip in the Dents du Midi and this was our starting point, The Auberge du Grand Paradis had recently been taken over by Kelly and her husband and they are doing a phenomenal job bringing this property back : the facilities are newly renovated and quaint, a typical Swiss chalet with the wonderful smell of wood all around, super clean, in the typical Swiss fashion. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom located in the hallway, not directly in the room, just like any home would be. It truly felt like staying over a friend's house, especially with how friendly the staff and Kelly is. The restaurant has authentic food, with mushrooms picked from the local mountainside. It is located up the road from downtown Champèry ( we walked there in ~ 20 minutes most people drive) and conveniently at the base of the main trailhead. Highly recommended, don't look for any other place if your goal is to have a comfortable place to rest as you prep for your mountain adventures (on foot, horses, or bikes!)

Charmant chalet suisse, au pied des montagnes, malheureusement l'isolation est restée au niveau du refuge .Cuisine canadienne ou fromages suisses, ambiance sympa.

Merci beaucoup Thomas pour votre gentil commentaire. Oui, nous sommes un très vieux chalet en bois de la fin des années 1800 ; il bouge et n'est pas complètement insonorisé.

Der Mann war sehr nett. Leider hatten wir keine Handtücher, nur ein Tuch auf dem Boden im Bad jetzt werden wir beschuldigt sie mitgenommen zu haben. Jeden Tag beim Frühstück mussten wir um eine Serviette fragen.

Posted 9 Aug 2019 on HotelsTrès bon séjour dans cet hôtel entièrement rénové avec soin et goût par de nouveaux tenanciers, un couple suisso-canadien. Accueil chaleureux. Très bon rapport qualité / prix. Agréable jardin, bien aménagé et avec vue sur les montagnes. Un endroit pour se ressourcer !
