I’m not sure why this property has such a high rating. This is far beyond the scope of any 4 or 5 star hotel that I have ever visited. The rooms are small and not clean. We arrived to used bedsheets that had blood and urine on them. The towels and face cloths had hair on them and smelled of baking soda and vinegar. Upon raising the concerns about this with the staff, they took nearly an hour to come change the sheets. The hotel staff is very rude and unfriendly, they never speak or greet you upon leaving or arriving. The room service is less than adequate. The food is unappetizing and arrived cold. Our orders were messed up several times. We also had the privacy sign placed on our room door while we left so housekeeping would not enter while we were gone. As we left for the day, we encountered one of the housekeeping employees in the hallway and she asked if we wanted our room cleaned. We politely declined and proceeded to leave. Upon returning to our room later that evening, we found the privacy sign completely removed from the door and the room was cleaned against our wishes. Some items were missing & misplaced. Never has this ever happened at any of our hotel stays in our life. The Marriott has no respect, regard, or decorum for their guests or guest privacy. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I would give my experience negative 20 stars if I could. Save yourself the headache and the money. There are much better hotels in Cape Town that respect their customers.
