Central Cascais hotel rooms a the Independent

"Absolutely loved this hotel. Beautiful rooms with great decorations, furnishings and beds/sheets. Rooms were spacious, as was the bathroom. Great location in Principe Real and walkable to many of the main attractions. Our room was a deluxe and we had a great view of the city and the castle. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Bar area was great and the restaurant area was beautiful. We only ate breakfast there (which was very nice) but people seemed to enjoy lunch and dinner. I would...

"Great location and the breakfast was very good. Our only issue was that there was no iron available in the room. When we asked to borrow one we were told that the hotel doesn’t have one! We could have had our clothes laundered at a cost (but the clothes were already clean and just needed a quick press having been in the suitcase) We travel a lot and have never come across this situation before. "Wonderful stay in an amazing, historic area of Lisbon. Staff was also wonderful. One thing to be aware of though, is that the hotel is located in a street with limited access. So if you drive or take taxi/uber, you will have to walk a very steep cobblestone street. If you have lots of luggage, make arrangements with the hotel. They are very accommodating. "
