We stayed here for my partners 30th birthday and the entire hotel was incredible.
The attention to detail was lovely, the rooms great I had the best 2 nights sleep I’ve had in a very long time, all the staff where so friendly and welcoming it really is a perfect stay.
Breakfast was fantastic and being a vegetarian they still catered for myself and had so many options.
The hotel is set in a beautiful area which is so relaxing.
Highly recommend and we will definitely visit again.

Absolutely a lovely spot with the best host, Stefano. Beautiful & very spacious rooms. He provided excellent recommendations for restaurants in and around Cento, even a Michelin star experience which was perfection. We look forward to visiting Monteborre again!!

A quiet location, off the beaten path. If you have a car, and are looking for a place to break up a long drive, or are looking for a home base to explore the region, we highly recommend you make this your first choice.
Although the bones of the manor house date back over two hundred years, you wouldn't know it, as everything is brand new and of the highest quality.
The freshly baked goods in the morning were a nice surprise.

Steffano was a wonderful host - booked a table for supper locally for us . Everything was very relaxed & nothing was too much trouble. The lady who served breakfast was also delightful ! A great place to stay .

Posted 27 Jul 2023 on HotelsThis is a beautiful place in the countryside (though close to the nearby mediaeval town) with a lovely pool. The owners are a good family and are amazingly helpful. My husband is in a wheelchair. There are no local taxis.

An exceptional hidden gem
Posted 19 Jul 2022 on HotelsThe location is nicely tucked away from the beaten track which is perfect for us as we were melting in Bologna. This is a (very lovely) family run business. Everything is beautifully laid out, the interior decoration is exceptional and well thought out from the lovely toiletries and materials, to the incredible space - a welcome break from the city. Breakfast was delicious with beautiful homemade cakes, locally sourced produce and even their own sparkling wine (which was delicious).
I wish we could have stayed much longer. We will definitely be returning back.

10/10 is simply not enough
Posted 31 Aug 2021 on HotelsMonteborre was an incredible little place, which my boyfriend and I encountered, on our trip through Italy. In fact it was so amazing, that we decided to come back at the end of our trip in order to spend our last two days there.
During our first stay my boyfriend unfortunately got ill and needed to see a doctor. Not only did they call their own family doctor to make an appointment, they showed us the way by following their car because they said it could be difficult to find. It doesn't stop here though; they went above and beyond when Allisandro (the son of the owners) went into the doctor with my boyfriend to translate, and afterwards went to the pharmacy with us to get instructions on the medication.
I have never in my life experienced such hospitality, and there is no doubt that they helped us so much out of no other reason than being great human beings.
My boyfriend and have already made plans to come back next year, and we can't wait :)
