The Innkeeper was a gem! The place needs a very good cleaning and I would rent a car the next time I stay there. You are about 2-3 miles from any restaurants, groceries etc

Charming historic charm

We were elcomed warmly and enjoyed a real New England charm at the inn. We felt comfortable and were delighted by the views and also the nice and easy jaunt into downtown without having to put up with the traffic. We enjoyed the attention to detials and bed and breakfast feel of the inn.

Cozy and very convenient to the Upper Cape

The first thing you need to know about the Wood Duck Inn is that they do NOT accept credit cards. This was not clear from the online listing. The owner, Philip, emailed and explained that I had to write a personal check to pay for the room, which was OK with me. At check-in, he was attentive and made sure I could log in to the Wi-fi network. Be aware that he has two large dogs who may greet you when you walk in the office. The property has only three rooms. I stayed in the Cottage Room, which was on the ground floor, but the area is very safe and quiet. There was a ceiling fan and a window AC unit. Towels and washcloths were plentiful and the large closet had a bathrobe as well as a small fridge and microwave. There is a little bench and table in the corner where you can eat your breakfast - I declined to have breakfast so cannot review that. The bed is relatively soft which is not my preference for sleeping, but it certainly felt luxurious. The shower is well equipped for those with mobility issues. Most importantly, the location is extremely convenient to places like Pocasset, Cataumet, and North Falmouth. At a price comparable to what other properties in the area charge, this was a good option for me while visiting family in the area. I would stay again.

Quaint and welcoming B&B

Posted 6 Aug 2015
Pros: Quaint, very clean and helpful proprietor.
Location: Quite near Falmouth on Cape Cod.
Proprietor very welcoming and helpful. Even assisted us with directions by phone to our car when we were traveling there. The room was comfortable and very clean. I loved the breakfast basket with fresh coffee and two local newspapers that was brought to our room each morning. Proprietor gave helpful suggestions for a choice of a restaurant for a evening meal.
