Beautiful B&B in a great location near Loch Ken. Gorgeous house with very spacious rooms, extremely comfy bed and a delicious cooked breakfast. We shall return!
We had a beautifully appointed room with huge bathroom in this lovely Arts & Crafts-style house with very convenient access to the Galloway forest trails. Lovely guest lounge and garden (former croquet lawn) with views down the valley. Hazel does an excellent Scottish breakfast for those wanting to fill up before going out walking / cycling. Some excellent on and off-road bike trails in the area, made even better by three days of perfect June weather. Highly recommended.
Honestly cant think of a bad word to say about this B&B. The owner Hazel was so friendly and welcoming. Breakfasts were fantastic with fruit and cereal to help yourselves to before having a cooked breakfast. Rooms comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated, en-suite bathroom, tea and coffee facilities as well as bottled water. B&B located in the quiet village of New Galloway, only a short drive to Galloway forest park. Will be recommending this B&B to everyone!
Hazel and Roger have recently moved from Lancashire to be up here, a new challenge. I wish they'd teach other people how to renovate and run B&Bs. They've done, and do, both immaculately. I did once spy a speck of dust in the corridor, but it turned out to be a trick of the light.
The two New Galloway pubs have unreliable hours so Hazel will point you to a nearby hotel, a pleasant stroll away, which does food, and it's a nice spot too, on the river.
A joy to be here.
Hazel is a delightful hostess. She is warm and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and clean. The entire place is well-maintained and set in a tranquil environment.
