A holiday in Castellón is the perfect excuse to get to know a Valencian city that wants for nothing – sunshine, fine beaches, nature, culture and architecture.

Castellón de la Plana is a Valencian city bathed by the Mediterranean Sea that enjoys over 300 sunny days a year. Who could resist something so tempting? Book a Castellón getaway at the best price and have the break you richly deserve.

Castellón's warm climate allows you to enjoy its beaches, all of which have been awarded with the Blue Flag, from May to October. In El Serradal, near the mouth of the River Seco, you will find an interesting protected area of sands with abundant vegetation. El Pinar is Castellón's biggest beach, with a park and a golf course nearby where you can improve your swing. After El Pinar comes El Gurugú, the quietest of the three beaches.

El Pinar beach is located in an area known as El Grao, Castellón's maritime neighbourhood, two and a half miles from the city centre, with its own history and customs. In fact, the discovery of Iberian and Roman remains suggests that the area has a tradition of port trade going back more than 2,000 years. Here you can find Castellón planetarium, perfect for a family visit.

Among Castellón's fine architecture, special mention should be made of El Fadrí – "the bachelor" – so called because this bell tower stands apart from any other building. Work on the tower, which is a perfect example of Valencian Gothic, commenced in 1440. You will find it in the Plaza Mayor, next to the Co-Cathedral of Santa María.

Do not forget to visit Castell Vell, at the top of the Magdalena hill, an area that has been inhabited since the Neolithic period. The castle, which was built on the remains of a 10th-century Arab fortress, perfectly follows the mountain's contours. Complete your Castellón holiday package with an instructive excursion!

Castellón's nearest airport is Valencia, less than 50 miles to the south. From there, you can take a suburban train to reach your destination. With our Castellón getaways, you and you alone make the rules.
