Pool area was nice , get those chair pads to stay in place ... late night party across the way makes a good nights sleep a little rough . Ear plugs provided in bathroom toiletry bag the give you . Over all good

This beautiful hotel is within the old town in Panama City. Beautifully restored to its earlier glories. The rooms are large and stately. Friendly staff and restaurant on site. Lots to see and do in Casco Viejo, the old town. We took a tour through the panama canal and it was fascinating!

A lovely property overlooking Plaza Herrera in the Casco Viejo area of Panama City. I will say, prior to staying there, I was a bit concerned about several reviews that claimed there was no hot water...oh my God! They were SO wrong! Not only is there hot water but the shower has such great pressure that I nearly got whiplash! Swimming pool is a nice, serene area and there's a small gym on the 1st floor. One curious thing, however, is that both the hotel's bar and restaurant close ridiculously early--like 6:00 p.m. so the restaurant doesn't serve dinner--no problem since there are so many restaurants around, but odd. Loved the central location, so close to restaurants, the historic churches and museums. Not a ton of shopping in Panama City other than for Panama hats and chocolate.

Gorgeous, renovated colonial hotel in Casco Viejo, Panama City. The rooms were wonderfully spacious, the accommodations were luxuriously, comfortable, and the hotel staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. The area around the hotel is very easy to walk with lots of restaurants, cafés, museums, and souvenir shops. Traffic in this corridor can be a little difficult but taxis and ride-shares abound. We would happily stay here again upon our return to the city and will most definitely recommend it to family and friends alike.

Originally they put me in a very tiny room that had no hot water or desk/table. That wasn't good but then I was upgraded to a larger room that had a great view and a table and chairs, as well as hot water. That was nice!

Pasamos aquí nuestra noche de bodas y pensamos celebrar nuestro 1er aniversario de lo bien que nos fue. El personal nos hizo sentir en casa. Es un hotel situado en el Casco Antiguo de la ciudad y es muy rico caminar por los alrededores con muchos restaurantes, bares y museos. El desayuno del hotel estaba buenísimo, pedimos unos huevos benedictos y un bistec a caballo con tortillas. Todo estuvo delicioso! Al frente hay una iglesia y se escuchan las campanas.

This hotel has done a great job restoring the building for modern day convenience but has kept all the charm from the original building. The staff was so helpful and the location is fantastic for exploring the historic areas of Panama City.

Really, Really Amazing Hotel Experience.
Wow. We were so impressed with our stay. The service was unbelievably good -- from the front desk to maid service. Everyone was super (and sincerely) friendly and made very interaction a pleasure. We have traveled first class through other foreign countries, and this was equivalent. We loved that the hotel is also a piece of the history of Panama City, and the location is absolutely where you want to be as a first-time visitor. Easy to walk to fantastic restaurants and security was always present (due to proximity of the Presidential Compound) -- but not in an uncomfortable way.

This was our first time in Panama and our first time staying at the American Trade Hotel, which has a heritage building designation. What an amazing hotel! It was clean, safe, centrally located in Casco Viejo and the staff were always available and willing to provide guidance on places of interest to visit in the City. As it was a special birthday for my spouse, Aldhair Diaz and Estefania Martinez were very instrumental in getting me sorted with a bottle of Prosecco for the room on our arrival to which they added a scrumptious brownie square with fresh fruit. The staff remembered my spouse's birthday and there wasn't a shortage of best wishes from them on the day. Again, another scrumptious brownie square with fresh fruit was dropped off at the room for the birthday celebration. We were very appreciative to all the staff for their attention to detail and friendliness. A special shout-out to Luis-Armstrong who was a wealth of knowledge on the history of the hotel and general Panamanian History.
