Difficult to find, as only the name of the adjacent hotel, San Ruffino Resort, appears on the sign at the shared driveway. Room decor is in serious need of an upgrade (weird 70’s vibe and a lot of dangling wires) and the kitchenette and bathroom are rudimentary. Landscaping is dreary. Breakfast was basic and seemed like most items came from a supermarket. Helpful and friendly staff and the San Ruffino rResort pool (which Il Poggia guests can use) was pleasant, as were the grounds of the Resort.

Milord, thank you very much for choosing to spend your holidays at Poggio di San Ruffino!
We are pleased that you enjoyed the common areas, equipped to give guests the opportunity to enjoy the surrounding greenery: the pool is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas, same as the private garden areas o the ground-floor apartments.
We are sorry that you did not like the furniture: the kitchen is fully equipped and the furniture was handcrafted in 2016, completely new, created by a famous architect who chose distinctly modern motifs, with references to the typical tradition of Tuscan rural houses. to allow guests to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of total comfort.
Our continental Buffet breakfast is mainly based on local products, both savory and sweet, with Tuscan bread, desserts prepared by our chef Camillo, eggs, bacon and hot wurstel, various types of croissants.
Surely your suggestion pushes us to improve even more the quality level of breakfast, we hope to give you our welcome again soon so that you can see by yourself the innovations we have arranged for our guests.
Best wishes from San Ruffino, the staff.

We stayed in the self catering section of this resort,we had booked a studio apartment but the wifi was non-existent which was a big issue for us as my husband required the wifi for work, we complained and were moved after the first night,(excellent service) the lady at reception is quite pleasant and knowledgeable about the region, she took her time to explain places of interest and how to drive down, including parking tips- which could be a problem in Pisa and Florence. The apartment is clean and stocked with the basic amenities you require for self catering, my only issue is the lack of microwave and the fact that the apartment is not cleaned at all during our 6 night stay. You also do not get a change of towels and a fee of 7 Euros for a change of one set of towel imposed, seems excessive. Very rural and isolated setting, better appreciated with a car. All in all, the resort is well worth it and would recommend if you were looking for peace and quiet at an affordable price.

Dear Teetee, thank you very much for your kind review. We sincerely appreciate guests who help with constructive comments. You are perfectly right affirming that we offer self-catering apartments. In this sense it is clearly specified on all our proposals that just the final cleaning of the apartment is included. We have no problem to offer additional services, but in this case, as everywhere, it is forecasted an extra charge just for extra service. You are again right when you specify that with a car the accommodation is better appreciated. This is a very important advice to be able to delish all the potentialities we can offer.

Perfect Getaway
Posted 16 Sep 2017 on HotelsI was skeptical when I made this reservation and I have to say it far exceeded my expectations. This accommodation is managed by the larger San Ruffino resort next door but offers a more rustic and affordable experience. The decor was tasteful and everything was in excellent condition. Due to the weather we did not get to enjoy the pool but it looked inviting. While not a popular area of Tuscany, the location is beautiful nonetheless and made for a perfect relaxing getaway. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Appartamento bellissimo
