"We only had one night here because we were catching a flight the following morning. It was not too far from the main Bordeaux train station which was one of the reasons for choosing this hotel. The service staff were very helpful and the area had a big shopping mall nearby. We also thought it was a bit closer to the airport than the previous stay in Bordeaux."

"The Hotel de Normandie is in the best possible spot in Bordeaux. It is a block away from the best shopping streets and a couple of blocks away from five excellent restaurants. We had a nice room with a balcony where we could enjoy the balmy nights and sunny mornings on the sixth floor. There was a separate toilet which we appreciated but the shower was over the bath which can be slippery and I needed to be careful. Breakfast was good with a range of pastries and cheese. Eggs were cooked to order. The view from the balcony was of the trees around the tram hub and on to the river Garonne, with the spectacular fountain commemorating the Girondins to the left. You can catch a tram just across the street from the hotel to anywhere in the city , tickets are €1.50 for an hour and it’s a lovely way to get around when you tire of walking. Bordeaux has beautiful stone buildings, churches and museums. We stayed 9 nights and there was plenty to enjoy. We recommend Brasserie 1925 opposite the Girondin fountain and Bistro Big off the main shopping street as excellent both for food and charm. "

"A perfect location! If you want to be in the center of town with a plethora of shops, restaurants and sites, this is the place to be at a very affordable price!
