Thin walls, poor maintenance, poor response to maintenance issues. Old gross carpeting. Needs renovation.

I arrived and was unwell. In the evening I asked for a kettle or a way of getting some hot water and was told I could not get any and restaurant was shut. I said I needed a hot drink as I was unwell and the man just said ' go to a pharmacy'. I asked for a blanket as my room was cold and was told there were none. I had to get angry and demand a blanket and was finally given one. It was still quite cold in the room because of wind. they were completely unhelpful.

Old tired property, in very poor shape in every way. Do NOT STAY here, you will hate it. Very aged 60's era hotel. No amenities to speak of, simple basic boring buffet breakfast. Found large cockroaches in the main lobby and halls daily. My window leaked air and whistled at night! A/C unit was noisy and didn't work properly. Damaged walls, cracked concrete balconies outside...pool liner all wrinkled, and the water is ice cold. Just not worth staying here. The property needs to be completely overhauled and modernized.

Não sou muito de deixar comentários negativos pois eu também trabalho em hotel e sei o quanto custa, mas também sei o que os hóspedes esperam de nós!! Tentei fazer conversa quando fiz o check-in, mas tive que fazer todas as perguntas porque o senhor não estava com muita vontade de falar nem explicar nada.
Quando abri a cama para deitar o meu filho os lençóis da cama estavam sujos e manchados, não havia papel higiênico no quarto, tive de ir pedir. Os quartos estão em um estado que nem as gavetas do guarda roupa abrem.
Os dias estavam ventosos e a piscina estava cheia de sujeira e folhas e nenhum funcionário se preocupou em ir limpá-la (apenas uma vez pela manhã às 10h o senhor limpa a piscina) mas à tarde alguém deveria ir buscar as folhas não foi legal ter que nadar ali. SEM FRIGORÍFICO no quarto, embora eles soubessem que eu estava viajando com crianças.
Foi a minha 2 vez e será a última, as meninas brasileiras da recepção são muito amáveis e no bar também.

The hotel is outdated. The breakfast options are very limited. It is very close to the beach and a supermarket which is a plus.

I got a first floor hotel room without a balcony with a small window with an unappealing view - together with the dated dark décor made it seem dingy. Otherwise it was clean with a nice bath. There's no fridge or kettle so you have to go to the supermarket for drinks. Otherwise a pleasant stay in a very good location. Carcavelos itself is a lot nicer than Lisbon and Cascais as they're not rammed or designed to be catered towards foreign tourists, so you can see locals or Portuguese day trippers doing local things and going to local bars in the evening.
