Admire the rock pools, cascades and foam streams at the base of this clifftop viewpoint at the end of a muddy road.

Caracas Point is a hilltop vista of intriguing rock formations separating water from land. It consists of a mossy hill overlooking a scenic rock platform at sea level, where crashing waves create a belt of foam. Follow the trail that parallels the curving coastline to appreciate a range of picturesque views.

Enjoy the seclusion of this atmospheric viewpoint, away from crowds and traffic. Listen to the sound of the roaring sea in this natural haven. Watch the waves crash into the jagged rocks with thunderous power, as you relax safely above the spray. The lower rocky platform is about 200 feet (60 meters) below the clifftop viewpoint.

Bring your family to sit on a grassy patch with a picnic while you enjoy the view. Snap photos of the glimmering blue water and spot the many natural pools full of colorful fish and stingrays. Waterfalls, small streams and foam fountains add to the idyllic scenery.

Watch the sun descend and the sky turn a deep shade of red on a clear day. Visit the site after dusk to witness the spectacle of the milky white stars that take hold of the night sky.

Stroll along the picturesque coast, taking the Lion Beach trail along rolling grassy hills. Reach the beach to appreciate its small island and secluded stretch of sand.

Prepare to get muddy on a rainy day. Note that it is prohibited to walk on the lower platform, which is slippery and ravaged by waves. Swimming here is not allowed.

Caracas Point is on an outcrop that hangs off the southern portion of Fernando de Noronha island. The point is 1.5 miles (2.5 kilometers) south of the airport, a walkable journey. Traverse a road of red mud on your way. To the west is the isolated Lion Beach and to the east is Sueste Beach, where you will find several hotels and a small residential area.
