Thank you for the review and our apologies if your stay did not meet fully with your expectations. This is our low season with very low occupancy, which is reflected in the room rate, However, your comments regarding food items not available and need improvement are noted and will be passed on to the staff. I hope we have the opportunity to accommodate your again sometime in the future.

Could be much better, but not.
Posted 7 Jan 2023 on HotelsUnfortunately very disappointing. Expect the view from the Mountain Villa room. The room itself is good, but have to be improved dramatically. Shower is terrible, no water pressure and it is quite disgusting as it is shower curtain.
Super difficult to arrive, no private transfers from Caticlan or Boracay. Public boat available only, plus tips we had pay for luggages helpers. It says 1h from Caticlan but it takes at least 1h20min, and the sea is super rough. If rains, there was not much do to. Restaurant, breakfast is really very low level. No food options nor drinks. No beach sun-beds or service is provided. Staff is lovely but not trained or prepare for tourism.

The resort is in a beautiful location, overlooking the sea. The island is quiet and peaceful, ensuring total relaxation. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. An authentic island experience!

Luxury on the edge of the world.
Posted 10 Jan 2020 on HotelsCarabao island feels like being situated on the edge of the world and what's more appropriate then staying in the Ocean's Edge hotel - a piece of luxury surrounded by nature.
The hotel boat picked us up from Caticlan airport (get a Motorized tricycles from the airport to SE hotel which is the meeting point). The boat trip is an hour from there to Carabao island. They have two pickup slots 10:30am and 2:30pm.
We stayed in the hotel just after the typhoon (december 2019) when all the comms and internet were down. The staff was very helpful and made sure to overcome all the complexities we had after the nature disaster e.g. the electricity was on and off, no communication with the rest of the world.
There is not much around the hotel but the staff is very accommodating and if you request to go to town they can drive you there on demand so you don't feel trapped in the resort.
The small beach below the hotel is great for chilling out or for snorkeling. Also you can arrange a dive or a snorkelling trip with the Vibrations Dive Center which is located on the beach. Guillaume and Manu are so passionate about what they do and they have lots of stories about the oceans and its creatures to share. Highly recommended!
The only comment about the service is that the restaurant staff are very slow, however, during our 5 days stay we have noticed the gradual improvement.
The menu of the restaurant is vast and should be chopped in order to speed up the process.

There are a lot of good things about Oceans Edge, the staff is wonderful; every person we came in contact with greeted us with a smile and was eager to help us. Big rooms with comfortable beds. There is free filtered water provided and the staff will happily refill your bottle whenever you’d like. The views of the ocean are great and the resort itself is very new. Unfortunately it feels a bit too new and possibly unfinished. There are a lot of details that are missing. There is no WiFi in the rooms, you have to go to the lobby to use it, and it’s a remote resort so we had no phone signal either. for 2 of the days the WiFi wasn’t working at all which was frustrating. Our first room felt unfinished, the shower clearly had holes in the floor where a full enclosure should have been but there was only one small divider so when you showered the entire bathroom flooded! We had a problem with ants in the room and after the second night of killing dozens of them we gave up and asked for a new room. Again the staff was very helpful, they sent someone to help with the problem the first night and then moved our room without issue. There is nothing around the resort for miles which is fine but they only have one option as a restaurant and it’s grossly overpriced for the Philippines. The food is ok but limited options and it’s the only place to eat! I think in a year or two this will be a great place to stay but until it’s completely finished and the flaws ironed out I’d probably avoid it
