Really good experience. Bungalows are in excellent condition but the property needs a refreshing but has a great potential. I loved the open bathroom. Overall recommend.
We loved the place! It’s in the middle of the jungle and super clean.
Considering the place runs on batteries they did an amazing job.
If you want to leave the rest of the would a couple days behind you that’s the place you want to go!!
We loved the rainforest experience with the comfort of a bed, outdoor shower and simple kitchen, power for lights and to charge your phone, camera etc. Great to have no TV, microwave, hairdryers etc
Simple and comfortable
Lovely outdoor rocky seating and all the beautiful statues, art, "swimming" hole
Unique property & definately worth staying a few nights
Perfect location. Set right in the rainforest, yet close to all ammenities
Accomodation is true to the locale, yet has all you need
Plenty of optional extras available
Overall Property has its own self guided walks
And a lot of creative, artistic sculptures are littered around the property
Owners are passionate & knowledge about the environment & the area
And very artistic themselves
A last minute decision to get away from the kids at home ended up as a two night stay. We absolutely loved it. So relaxing and tranquil. A true hideaway. The creek and the walking tracks were just beautiful as well as the impressive sculptures all around the property. Thank to rolph and his family for having us and we hope to get back there soon. We highly recommend to anyone really wanting to get away from it all.
We fell in love with this place. Breakfast is wonderful - fresh fruit, yogurt, toast or cereal. Coffee and juices. Our bed was very comfortable, hot shower. The setting was beautiful, we had a cassowary walk by as we ate breakfast.
The facility is quite isolated in the rainforest. It is a very interesting property with a certain amount of whimsy to it. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast with exotic fruits was very tasty. If you need AC do not book here. Otherwise it is a great place to stay.
Wonderful authentic jungle experience. Loved the open bathroom with no walls, facing the forest, and loved the sculpture trail. Don't miss a a swim in the river!
Breakfast of tropical fruit was great, and the home made coconut yogourt was delicious! Rob was very helpful booking local activities.
The hotel is very unique, the owner is lovely and has put a lot of effort into making the decor memorable.
Tour assistance if needed is available, location is great & lots of wildlife to see on the doorstep
Not your standard hotel! The chance to stay in a rainforest setting with nature all around, including visits from the huge Cassowary bird that has to be seen to be believed. Almost like "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here" but in a safe environment and without all those creepy-crawlies. Rob has built the place himself with lots of original designs including a most unusual, indeed unique, "crazy golf" course. The chance to truly experience the rainforest without the risk.
What a great experience, loved the house and setting.Overall only one thing wrong wished we had stayed longer. Tranquil and peaceful, listening to night noises and the rustle of the wind. Rob was a friendly, relaxed host and made us feel very welcome. I recommend families stay a night or 2 and give their family a memorable experience. We would definitely stay again.
Absolutely perfect! This was our favourite place to stay on our trip to Cape Tribulation. Our room was clean, the bed was so comfortable, and we fell asleep to the sounds of the rainforest every night. Our breakfast was served on a deck that was open to the rainforest, and all the furniture was made by our host Rob - including our bed! It was a privledge to be able to stay there, would recommend Rainforest Hideaway to anyone wanting to experience living in the rainforest.
