Beautiful apartments in an excellent location

Pros: The apartment was beautiful and really very furnished.
Cons: Maintenance can improve
Location: The apartment was really well located, close to Grand Baie and all necessary amenities. I would however recommend that you hire a car to get around.
We had a wonderful stay at Cape Bay recently. The apartment was beautiful and really well furnished. Challenges experienced with the air conditioner, but these were quickly resolved. Wendy was fantastic and was available for any requests. Cleaning and security staff were great. The residence pool area was fantastic.

Great value compared to hotels

Grand Baie 5 km away. Apartment is right across street from beach park. Grand Baie is nice, but dining out was a disappointment. Thought culinary experience would be higher quality. Had some above average meals; one particularly bad one at La Jonque, reputed to be one of the area's best Chinese restaurants. Ordered 4 dishes, none were even marginally average. If you like to cook, best meals may be at home where kitchen is nicely equipped. Beaches are incredible to walk - sand, volcanic rock, grass paths.

Vacances à Bain Boeuf

we have spent 2 weeks in a 2bedroom apartment with our 5year old grandchild. It was a great stay eventhough the apartment was so dark inside that you need to keep the light switched on all day long.The beach across the street was closed (works on) so he had to drive to an other one. The staff was really nice and we have appreciated everyone.

Lack of care, badly maintained

Location: Tricky location as the long walk to anything outside the hotel is along a narrow / busy road. Hard with children. Need a taxi or car hire.
Our time at Cape bay was beyond disappointing. A penthouse apartment with a broken air conditioner for two nights, a unflushable toilet that was not fixed along with a shower that was so clogged the water leaked out into the bedroom which made it also unusable. The unsatisfactory level of customer service from management was very upsetting. The general level of cleanliness in the apartment was so far below average... A filthy kettle that could not be used, complementary condiments that were already opened and half used, stained linen, unkept floor, dirty and dusty all around... It was advertised as a luxury apartment but that name on the sign say beach resort so don't be fooled. It was also advertised as having a private pool which is more like a jaccuzi and so dirty we did not use it once. I would honestly not recommend for anyone to stay here. To come all the way to Mauritius and have the experience at Cape bay taint our whole holiday has been disappointing.

Dear guest, We are sad to read your review today but are not surprised as we already discussed it together during your stay. Nevertheless, we would like to give additional information to future guests. When you first moved in and mentioned the issue with the toilet flush, we offered you to move to another unit in order for you to fully enjoy your 6-night stay with us. You declined the offer and choose to stay in the same unit (knowing that the issue was linked to the building so would be difficult to fix as it required bigger work). The air-conditioning was working at 80% and fixed the same day to your satisfaction. The 'complimentary condiments' you mentioned where indeed already opened and half used as the friends staying with you arrived earlier and decided to make use of them. We were not aware of any issue with the shower or the private plunge pool located on your terrace. We did not receive concurring feedback from guests checking-in later on but rest assured that we will check this nonetheless. On the level of service, we pride ourselves to be attentive to our guests needs and always do our best to ensure that clients make the most of their stay in Mauritius while being with us. However it seems that seeing you everyday and even driving you for some of your errands, offering you an alternative option as regards to your accommodation and a free transfer and late check-out did not meet your expectations. We were sorry not to have been able to give you the full stay refund you asked for but we believe that we did out utmost to make your stay with us enjoyable. Spacious, nicely furnished Appartment

Cons: Signboards - hard to find if you arrive late.
Location: Greatest Beaches in Mauritius in the area of 15 km.

CAPE BAY BY HORIZON HOTEL

Vi bodde en vecka och kostade 5600 kr, vi fick en jättelyxig lägenhet där alla i familjen fann sig väl tillrätta. Det negativa var väl att vi fick uppfattningen att alla lägenheter hade en egen liten pool, dock var så inte fallet med vår lägenhet vilket gjorde den minsta i familjen något besviken. Poolen i området är snygg men man kunde i princip bara simma fram och tillbaka inte så anpassat för barn även om det fanns grunt område. Det fanns ett gym helt ok men ganska lite utrustning. Det finns en pärm med resor och upplevelser man kan boka, undvik dyrt dåligt och inte informativt. Åk hellre in till Grand Baie och boka på plats.

Schönes modernes Apartment

Wir waren 2,5 Wochen vor Ort als Familie mit 5 Erwachsenen. Sehr schönes Maissonette-Apartment mit zwei Sonnenterassen. Die Wohnung war gut ausgestattet und wurde täglich gereinigt. Leider muss man sämltiche Wertsachen gut verschließen, da uns vom Zimmermädchen 50 EUR entwendet wurden. Der Manager war sehr aufmerksam und hat entsprechend gehandelt Auf Grund des vielen Regens hatten wir Wasserflecken an den Wänden und ein Bad war leider sehr feucht. Die Anlage mit tollem Pool ist sehr gepflegt und ruhig. Unsere Wohnung war leider direkt hat der Straße, die tagsüber doch ziemlich laut ist.
