Absolutely spectacular. We really enjoyed our time at Chateau de Candes. Bertrand and Sam went out of their way to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Running this place is not easy but the family are doing their absolute best as custodians. They are fully dedicated and committed to making Chateau de Candes a success. Merci Bertrand et Sam. We will definitely be back.

No service, support during stay. Same towels for four days! Same garbage etc.. no air conditioning. Locks on doors problematic Amazing location. Beautiful room, facility.

Exceptional Hotel Compound

Pros: Very attentive hostess. Attractive and romantic setting. Beautiful views.
Cons: Add on-site food services.
Location: Excellent dining in Saumur. Wine tasting by Alain Bonnot - aboard his boat - is an extraordinary experience (weather permitting).
Awesome compound. Refined interior design and landscaping. Minor issues are the absence of in-room coffee or snack services. And our room smelled like a cat had spent time in the space.

We will be returning here. The rooms are just what we needed for our family - 2 small kids. A well equipped kitchen immaculately decorated and presented. The village of Candes is a delight with lots to explore and see.

Location is excellent. The room we had was new but very basic. There was no wardrobe, no shelves, no hangers - no place for your luggage at all. No cleaning or changing of towls during the stay. Very expensive for what it was. It turned out at the end of the stay that they apparently did not give us the room we paid for - and we were compensated some for that. People are nice and in general it seems like the try hard - but there is a long way to go for it to be value for money. The pool area was nice and quiet in the morning. Spa was fine. Laundry facilities are free and easy to use.
