Convenient, clean, great price
Overal was very please. Was traveling alone after for first time after several trips to Isla with friends/family. This was my first time staying here and I will definitely be back. No frills, but room was spacious, clean, had hot water, bathroom worked great. Had a safe in my room which was nice. Staff was very friendly and able to answer any questions I had. If you don’t need the ritz, definitely recommend.

The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning worked. The toilet was not attached to the floor. The kitchenette was poorly maintained. No hot water in the kitchen. Shower water pressure was low but the water was hot.

Great Experience!
I was looking for something affordable, clean and secure since I was staying alone. I got everything I expected! I loved how close to everything I was: restaurants, beaches, shopping, nightlife, etc. The staff was extremely friendly. I stayed in an Economy room and it met all my basic needs. I had friends staying nearby that paid more for their rooms but received sub par service. I would come back and bring my family try out the upgraded rooms for sure. I highly recommend Hotel Sueno Maya!

It's a nice little place with a fair price. We were told right away at check-in that our safe was not working. So it was nice they told us up front, but there was no mention of an effort to repair or replace, however, we got by without it. I realize toilets on the island are a little 'slow', but the flushing power in our unit was still a little under par compared to others I have used in the past on the Island. But once again, we got by.

Mi esposa y yo reservamos este hotel basándonos en las fotos del hotel que no tienen nada que ver como cuando llegas al hotel ,no le dan mantenimiento al hotel, aunque les pidas que hagan la limpieza al cuarto no la hacen , se basan en que ya lo limpiaron el día anterior ,sus recepcionistas necesitan estar mejor entrenadas para atender los clientes , tristemente no fue lo que esperábamos .

The room was dirty… like an actual poop stain on the wall by the toilet paper. The shower curtain was moldy. The room smelled like sewer all the time. The checkin was very awkward. The location is great tho, and the bed linens were clean.

The staff were so helpful with everything and were so friendly and kind. The beds were clean and comfortable and the room spacious. Excellent location close to shopping, restaurants and beach. Quiet area away from Hidalgo. Nice neighbourhood and wonderful to walk along the Malecon. Wonderful place to stay.

I have stayed at this hotel many, many times but this stay is going to be my last. There seems to be new owners and the place is not being maintained the way it once was. One of the rooms didn’t have a toilet seat and when I mentioned this to the girl at reception she just shrugged and didn’t do anything. It was the second day before a seat was installed. This used to be our go to place to stay but alas it has gone down hill in terms of cleaning, maintenance and staff.

The property was close to the beach. The AC was super cold. We took off a sheet. No mattress pad, mattress was quite gross. However the sheets on the bed were super clean. For the money I would recommend. If you are OCD then don't sleep here.
