The resort was beautiful and very clean. Food was excellent. Entertainment was disappointing there were at least 3 nights of our week long stay where there was nothing in the evening at the resort, we have stayed a number of times at RIU las americas and always enjoyed our evenings with amazing shows. The new schedule with the RIU parties were not for us and saw numerous other guests disappointed as well with that as the only entertainment option. Daily pool entertainment was not good pretty much consisted of volley ball and aerobics. Had poor service at the Japanese restaurant,asked waiter for an additional appetizer and was ignored only to find the same options were at the buffet and could have been accommodated especially since we spent the extra money for elite status.

During my stay at Riu Palace Kukulkan, I experienced a horrifying incident that showcased the hotel’s complete negligence and lack of concern for guest safety.
On Saturday, November 16th, at the Neon Party, I was severely injured due to the reckless actions of another guest. This individual picked me up without my consent, placed me on their shoulder, and fell backward while carrying me. My head struck a doorframe, and I landed face-first on the ground. This resulted in over 20 stitches to my head, a significant bruise on my cheek, the loss of one front tooth, and fractures to three others. I am now unable to chew or eat properly.
While the hotel staff arranged for an ambulance, they failed to take any further action. They did not notify the police, stop the individual responsible, or assist when my friend and I tried to involve law enforcement ourselves. Despite my injuries, the staff refused to provide a translator or help with a wheelchair to facilitate filing a police report, even though the police station was just a few minutes away.
To make matters worse, the hotel allowed the attacker to flee. This lack of urgency and responsibility likely gave the individual enough time to leave the country. The hotel’s failure to act promptly and appropriately in such a serious situation is completely unacceptable.
Riu Palace Kukulkan is not a safe place to stay, and their response to this incident has been appalling. I would never return to this hotel or any Riu property.

We had an amazing time at the RIU!!! The staff was amazing… Ishmael, Gil, Susan, Oscar, Ariel, Johnny, Rudolfo, and so many many more beyond amazing!!! Lifeguards were beyond fabulous and we saw them in action taking care of someone who needed help!!! Sooo impressed. The house keeping was great…such sweet ladies and the groundskeepers kept the RIU so beautiful. Every staff member you encountered smiled and greeted you. We had a great time walking around and the beach pkg was sooo beautiful… we had a fabulous time with our bodyboards and we loved spending time at the pool as well. The food was great and it is really hard to pick a favorite…. We enjoyed it all. The room we had was spectacular and the view was breathing taking!!! We cannot wait to go back next year!!! Thank tou so much for making this a wonderful trip for us!!!

It's the 2nd time we've been to this resort and it was as amazing as the 1st! Cant wait to come back again!
