Older hotel with remodeled rooms. Clean. Quiet for being so close to highway and train tracks. Convenient to the venue we were at for the weekend.

Nice, clean, and comfortable.

The room was very clean and comfortable, had a new memory foam mattress that was very comfortable. The owners are very nice, friendly people. The Roku TV system is great.

The staff were friendly but the room was dirty the tub had look like it had not been cleaned in a while. The floor wasn’t swept there where brown spots growing on the floors.

I'm so sorry you had a bad experience here. The staff you're speaking of is us, the owners. My wife and I live on property and take care of everything ourselves, plus our amazing housekeeper who lives in town. Our motel was completely full the week you were here, due to the beef conference you were attending, and unfortunately the only room available was the smoking room when you booked it. We're sorry to have started you off upset! But the rest of the town was full as well. At any rate, if there were any cleanliness issues with the room, I can assure you they would have been dealt with immediately by us if we had been made aware of them. I can understand if we had had that opportunity to deal with them, you might still give us a 4 out of 5 star for the room not being as clean as you might expect the lowest priced budget motel in town to be. But. You didn't give us that chance, and instead just gave us 2 stars, assuming we don't care and when we cheerfully said to Please let us know if there's anything you need while you're here! as you left the lobby, that we didn't really mean it. Well, we did. I would have gone up and swept it myself if there was some dust our housekeeper missed. The tubs here are the original from 1960. We have redone the porcelain on some of them, others have some rust around the drain and have a permanent "dirty" look. But everything in the bathrooms are fully sanitized with industrial sanitizer between guests. Regardless of how it looks to our housekeeper. And I don't know what "brown spots growing on the floors" means. They are brown laminate floors. Again, maybe if you could have pointed something out while you were here, and brought it to our attention, we could have addressed it. We don't occupy our rooms or go into them on a daily basis, so if there's an issue we'd certainly like to know about it. Upon inspection, I couldn't find what you were looking for.Again, sorry you booked a smoking room weeks in advance when it was the only one left and came to our motel upset before even getting into your room.

Needs updating

It sure is old, David! And it sure does need lots of updates. That's why we make sure to stay in our lane and only charge 65 or 70 a night, 20-30 less than anywhere else in town. We try not to give too high expectations anyway. Still, having owned the place two years, most of what we have left to improve is cosmetic. Floors, painting, maybe updating the furniture. I didn't know that we need "updates everywhere"... We certainly don't need new beds. The solid steel bed frames and memory foam mattresses are less than our 2 years here. They go well with the 43" Smart TVs that you can watch your own Netflix, Hulu, Prime etc shows on, comfy in brand new sheets, pillows, pillow cases, comforter after having showered behind a new shower curtain, drying yourself off with our brand new towels, and being able to be hidden from sight by our brand new blackout drapes! I mean, hey, there's still plenty to do. We're not property flippers. We only own the one place. If we were wealthy and owned 30 properties we wouldn't be able to live here on the property and be attentive to folks' needs. Most people seem to appreciate the trade-off.Of course we did a summer's worth of brick upgrades last year, we re-sealed and striped the parking lot, put up a fence in the courtyard, created an entire yard that didn't exist, and even though the room you were in hasn't had a complete remodel... Some of the rooms have. And some have had partial. As we can get to them. And as we can afford them.Our hope is that by being on site and maintaining a great staff, great beds, good water pressure, and fantastically clean rooms, the top 3 things people look for, we'll continue to be able to put small improvements into our motel over the next 2 years and hopefully the next time you come to town, you can see the difference in the quality and the progress we've made!

Very nice property. A lot of work put in to upgrading rooms. Wonderful lady who owns the place. Very kind and friendly….

Love this place

We love this place. Such friendly owners who are continually uograding. Our room was clean, comfortable and everything worked well. They have a great off leash play are that our dogs loved.
