"This was the most relaxing stay! We were deep in the countryside in our own stone village with great amenities and fresh bread, fruit, cheese, jam and honey for our kitchen every day. No restaurant on site or in walking distance but it was fun and challenging diving around exploring the region on back roads to get to the each town with its castle and church. "

"L'emplacement est au top. L’appartement et ses équipements sont au top. tout est superbe jusqu'à environ 20 heures. A partir de ce moment, on a une musique de fond qui vient d'on ne sais ou.? Puis ça devient de plus en plus gênant. Il faut savoir que ce superbe appartement se situe juste au dessus d'une Pizzeria (très bonne au demeurant) qui est ouverte jusqu'à une heure du matin avec la musique a fond. dans la journée c'est sympa, mais pour dormir.....c'est autre chose. "We stayed in a two bedroom apartment on the second floor. Really lovely property, very tastefully decorated, and had all the amenities we needed for our short stay, including a washing machine for laundry. There is no front desk and so you will have to check-in at the Hotel Oslo. But the staff there were incredibly kind and gave us several route options to get to the property, considering the luggage and walking abilities of our party. We did not drive so I cannot comment on parking, but the staff at Hotel Oslo mentioned that it was available. The property was tricky to find at first, but once we got our bearings, it really was in the most ideal location, a short walk away from the main shopping street. Note that there is no elevator. Even going to the second floor with our suitcases was challenging but we managed. Good luck to those who are in higher floors! Staff also stopped by to give us a welcome snack, in the form of a local bread. Thank you Entre Ruas, for being our home in Coimbra."

"Really appreciated the warm welcome and offer of a drink from the staff upon our arrival. Also, the unique and gracious personal welcome letter the staff had written which was in our room. They were most helpful throughout our stay with info regarding restaurants, directions, parking, sights to see, etc. "

You NEED to stay here if you're visiting Coimbra

"WOW. This hotel blew our expectations and anticipations out of the water. From the first interaction, they, especially Catarina, were incredibly friendly, helpful and helped us settle right in to Coimbra. Then there's the property itself. The original stone walls and arch ways, the VIEWS and the furnishings are just breathtaking. Out of all the places we stayed in Portugal during our 10 day trip, this was the location we wished we could go back to most. Cannot recommend highly enough. "

"This is an excellently located property, So perfect for a visit to the Coimbra University which is just up the very steep street. We loved this historical hotel. All check in is done virtually so please, read the instructions they send you before arrival all the information is there and it is simple and accurate. They give you a code both for the front door and for your room. The room looked onto the beatiful main street, and walking around town was very easy. climbing to the University can be challenging but so worth it and the center of town is just steps from the hotel. Take advantage of the one-hour city tour 'train' that starts on the center square of the University."
