Excellent location and mainly helpful staff and really wonderful gardens. Ideal for a weekend stay or for a family event. Good value for money. No lifts for more elderly folk which should be made clear when booking.

Madingley Hall has the wow factor. It’s such a beautiful building and grounds. Inside, rooms are repurposed student rooms (I assume) and are basic, but a good night’s sleep was had. Breakfast buffet was great. It’s not 5 star but for the price paid and the wonderful surroundings it’s a great place to stay.

I liked the property much. Lovely, interesting buildings; full of character. Very helpful staff and tasty breakfasts. Only problem was the bath which I found a bit slippery. I think it needs some kind of treatment to make it non slip. Otherwise very good visit.

Stayed for 2 nights, room was fantastic, clean and comfortable bed, we had a roʻom that overlooked the gardens which was beautiful. Breakfast had a good choice, however the hot food wasnt very hot.

What a stunning setting. As it is still part of Cambridge University the bedrooms are basically for students. The small double room we were in is basic but with beautiful linen, good quality towels and curtains. The building itself and the gardens are wonderful to walk around and enjoy. Highly recommend. Use madingley park and ride to get into the city centre.

Great value for money. Beautiful gardens. Our room had a view of the gardens. Lovely pub at the bottom of the drive. The staff were very frienfly and helpful. There was plenty of choice at breakfast. Would definitely stay again

I particularly felt the breakfast was first rate - even the fried eggs were uniquely without crusts! It was easy to get into Cambridge using the park-and-drive only a few minutes away.
