This is a beautiful property, and the hosts (Jon and Penny) are wonderful. Jon is a chef who prepares really tasty vegan meals. Highly recommended for a weekend getaway!

Just got home from staying here and we already can’t wait to go back! The food is absolutely outstanding whether you are vegan or just love great food. Jon is truly a top notch chef whose food belongs in a high-end restaurant - so inventive and delicious! The house is historic and beautiful but also extremely nice and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The grounds are lovely and peaceful. The location is great on a cute Main Street with lots of beautiful state parks and hiking within a short drive. They are doing a great job of making it a safe place to be despite the coronavirus with lots of reasonable measures. Jon and Penny really make it feel like home. Can’t possibly recommend it more highly as a relaxing and enjoyable destination!

Definitely worth every penny!
Posted 4 Nov 2018 on HotelsWe had a wonderful stay in Caledonia! This gracious home is exquisite. Our tea time and breakfast were each one-of-a-kind. The owners were excellent hosts while still allowing us use of this beautiful home and our personal privacy.

Still impressed after four visits
Posted 18 Apr 2018 on HotelsThis was our 4th stay at Old Caledonian B&B. Jon and Penny are great. The house and accommodations are excellent. The surrounding area is "low key" but with plenty interesting history and natural beauty. The best part is the food: Jon's tea time with Penny's cookies and, if you choose, a gourmet dinner by Jon. We find Old Caledonian B&B to be a stress relieving and enjoyable get-a-way.

Pros: Old fashioned setting, food, location....
Beautiful setting in a small town, the hosts are friendly, and Jon is an OUTSTANDING chef! You will love the creations he comes up with. The evening meal and breakfast were included with our room, and not to be missed! Gazebo, goldfish pond/stream, and lots of flowers in the yard. EXCELLENT place to stay.

Best Experience Ever!!
Posted 19 Aug 2017 on HotelsThis was absolutely AMAZING! As a hotels.com member we've never stayed at a B&B. I'm converted now, just wish more B7B's were on Hotels.com. I called ahead to let them know we would need a late 8pm checkin and it was no problem. They even said tea was normally served at 4 and would be waiting for us in our room. We got a tour of the house including history and let us know what was on the menu for breakfast, eggs benedict! I was excited as Jon is a world renowned chef! I did have one special request my girlfriend doesn't like eggs anyway they're fixed, Jon said no problem. The room that night was wonderful, complete with a clawfoot tub to soak and relax, while having a great glass of wine (available from the B&B) with our tea snacks. Finally finishing up in a wonderfully comfortable bed. We awoke and found we were the only ones staying in the B&B that night, therefore we had a private chef and his wife Penny to ourselves. Eggs benedict with fresh fruit and chocolate banana bread was a wonderful breakfast. Jon made hers with extra diced canadian bacon instead of an egg on top. The canadian bacon wasn't your average slice of deli meat, it was thick sliced, juicy lightly smoked and cured on property. I would venture to guess this will be one of the best breakfast any Hotels.com member would ever have when they take the time to relax at Old Caledonia Bed and Breakfast.
