Good hotel right next to the beach

Posted 26 Aug 2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable, quiet, good bar and terrace. Location.
Cons: Odd little things missing E.G. Tea and coffee facilities in the room, No UK tv channels. Few cheap toiletries, no conditioner, only mirror in bathroom
Location: Small quiet town. Station with direct service to Barcelona as well as other resorts. Many kilometres of level walking along the coastline. Market.
2 minutes from the station, 8 euro and 70 minutes from the international airport - right on the beach. 4-5 lovely restaurants in the small town, beach bars, sun beds and umbrellas for hire. The train runs up the coast calling in on busier tourist towns like Calella as well as Barcelona. The spa in the hotel is good and free to guests. Treatments charged extra. Breakfast is good. Never had dinner in the restaurant as there was plenty of good places with better atmosphere to find around the quiet sleepy town that comes to life at weekends - but is never busy. Perfect for a quiet break in the sun with the spa and a 50 minutes trip to Barcelona to cover any rainy days. Not a place for party animals! Nice to be in a place that doesn't all speak English. Little craft and food market right outside the hotel on a Sunday. The beach and area next to the hotel have a family feel with plenty to amuse the kids, but no so much as they spoil a relaxed break. Nothing in the hotel itself for kids at all.

Good, quiet, hotel on a nice suburban beach

Posted 22 Jul 2014
Pros: Beachfront location, good food and drinks, spa services.
Cons: Housekeeping- a 4 star hotel shouldn't run out of toiletries, and the Saturday afternoon housekeeper should not be so rude about a basic deficiency
Location: Beach, swimming
The hotel is located well north of Barcelona, and is quiet and family oriented or great for couples looking for a spa- trip away from Barcelona. The hotel itself is both nice and refined, but some of the facilities and areas are showing their age. The "free" wifi also only works in common areas of the hotel, and is not strong enough to make it into the guest rooms. The breakfast and restaurant food is all good and not over-priced. My only complaint was with housekeeping. They ran out of shampoo and body wash on the last night of our trip! Overall, a very nice trip in a beautiful beachfront location, with a hotel that was nice.

Nice Hotel and Spa on the Beach

Posted 24 Oct 2013
My wife and I had wonderful time here, good food and location right on the train route. Staff were kind and courteous. The hotel definitely caters to a Spanish speaking clientele, but did a wonderful job trying to deal with us in English. Had a great massage and took multiple swims in the Salt Water pool, highly recommended. Our room had a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea. It is 50 minute train ride to downtown Barcelona. On the downside: The air conditioning in our room was not working sufficiently, but it was October so by opening the window we were able to get the room down to a temperature that we could sleep, if you go during the summer bring a fan. The hotel facilities could use a makeover and the "natural mineral spa" was out of order for the entire four nights we were there. But all in all had great time and would still recommend this hotel.

Great position

Pros: friendly staff. Hotel is right on the beach with free towels and sunbeds Unlimited fresh orange juice breakfast
Cons: The organisation of the coffee for breakfast is absolutely hopeless, Double beds would be nice
Location: Nice beach. Good beach bar opposite hotel for sundowners and simple dinners. No rowdy bars or clubs, Very few English people
Its great to go to sleep to the sound of the waves on the beach. We got a great deal on full board theough Expedia. The food was great for Breakfast and lunch, but the buffet dinner didnt insire us much. Some nice food, but kept lukewarm under lights. The are quite a few of elderly people in the hotel, which gave the dining room a bit of a nursing home feel. it's much better if you eat out on the terrace. A very nice 4 night sunshine break, though

Disapointing

Posted 24 Oct 2011 on Hotels
Stayed 2 nights. Room clean but rather dated and shabby. The veneer on the furniture was worn and broken. The noise from the trains was clearly noticable with windows fully closed. Breakfast is plentiful, but one might find the flies on the uncovered cold cuts a bit disconcerting. There was an electricity cut on the one full day I had there, so the pool, sauna, spa etc. were closed. Although the spa is the only reason to book this hotel we were told that as it was not their fault so there would be no compensation. After some argument, the manager agreed to waive our €22.00 bill for breakfast. There is nothing interesting in the surrounding area.

Very convenient and great hotel!

Posted 26 Aug 2011 on Hotels
I really can't say enough about how great this hotel is. Convenience: It's literally a 1 minute walk from the train station (just need to cross through a pedestrian underpass). It's also right on the beach, less than a minute walk. Comfort: The room was nicely appointed and very comfortable. It was clean and spacious. The spa was also great. It was spacious and had a variety of complementary activities (pool, sauna, hammam, etc) as well as a number of specialized treatments one could pay for. Staff: The hotel staff was friendly, and while they insist on a punctual checkout time, they let me store my luggage so that I could make one last trip to the beach. Food: The restaurant provided a GREAT spread for breakfast. I also ate lunch there once, and the food was quite exquisite! There are a number of good restaurants and cheaper eateries nearby though, so as tempting as it would be to just eat all your meals at the hotel and also its' beachfront cafe, do be sure to explore other venues. So, what are you waiting for? Check this hotel out!
